Used for heavy duty gardening/decorating/kitty litter tray cleaning, and I couldn't begin to guess at the amount of muck and bleach that's been swilled down it over the years. Not a hint of rust.
Definitely a Franke, that’s why I am so annoyed about the condition after 4 years.
It’s hardly used, just two of us, oap’s.
just daily dishes, and use a plastic bowl.
got dishwasher.
nothing caustic kept underneath.
any washing of dirty hands, clothes, etc is done in the utility room one we’ve had for 29 years, and still perfect, just a little shabby .
always used bleach etc in it .
it’s had a very hard life, and will see us out .
according to Franke, it really shouldn’t be used at all, because it seems normal usage is bad for it !
that’s why I refused their terms, to me, cheaper sinks are better.
it’s one of their costliest ones they do, £600 , and one cannot wash dishes in it.
£250, taps, also Franke, wonder when they will go ?
you don’t get what you pay for anymore it seems .
quality control is done by the customer .
can go on forever.
Not just sinks. When our 30 year old Hotpoint fridge freezer finally gave up the ghost, despite living in the garage for the best part of 20 years, the chaps who delivered our new one said that there was no way it would last anywhere near 30 years.
Built in obsolesence, so you are forced to buy new? What a waste.

Managing expectations or selling shoddy goods?
I don't care about your first world problems; I have enough of my own!1 -

Managing expectations or selling shoddy goods?Plus the good ol’ rose tinted glasses of days yonder also come into play here.3 -

Going further back, to my childhood, a small chiller fridge with a tiny ice box was a luxury item because of the cost. We didn't get a fridge until I was in my early teens, and we thought we were well posh!

Managing expectations or selling shoddy goods? Not *so* quickly that they say it BEFORE you buy it, though, you notice?I recall a similar thing when buying a VHS recorder back in the day. It was the best, had all these features, superb quality blah blah. As soon as it was bought and paid for, "Now, about extending the warranty, because these things often break down and are very complex to fix ..."There was a percentage of me that wanted to say -- ok, if they are THAT unreliable I'll leave it, please process a refund ...1
