Forced pay in directly from First Direct when Santander won't allow it.Wheres_My_Cashback said:
No, you would have needed a standard savings account or current account. It's been discussed here previously that when opening new NW accounts they don't seem to go into the wider external banking system until overnight, therefore the workaround to deposit immediately is to do it from an internal source.happybagger said:
Start 2 Save matures into 'continue to save' for me in a couple of weeks, ie 2.5%simonsmithsays said:
I've emptied all but £50 to be included in the new 18month fixed.happybagger said:Only got start to save 2 which is in its last monthBoth are 5.5%
My point was to wheres_my_cashback regarding using it as a transit account into the member bond, this can't be done as S2S has a maximum £50 per month deposit0 -
I'm struggling to get the message across, I don't have a NW current account, or a NW savings account other than S2S which has a max deposit of £50 p/m. So the option you describe is not open to me.35har1old said:
If you had a current account or savings account with Nationwide you should have transferred the money to this and then onward to the new account visible almost immediatelyhappybagger said:Opened it early this morning, still not recognised by Santander so can't deposit. NW do warn it could take 24hrs to bee recognised.
No biggie, will wait to tomorrow.0 -
No, I'm almost maxed out on switch offers now, I did Nationwide back end of 2022, the only (major) ones left are/were Barclays and Virgin.35har1old said:
If you where eligible for the current Nationwide offer you would be better of.Bazzalona13295 said:I know this borders on 'how long is a piece of string' territory but how long would people guess NW leave this open?
Going to struggle to put much in the next couple of weeks and the Virgin 11/12% takes priority.
£200 10 days after switch completes
opposed to tying up £1000 for a year to receive at best £125
Done the Virgin switch and ended up opening a Barclays account for other reasons which have got me more than a switch would do.
Thanks though. In a year or 2 maybe the backdated terms will bring me into play for some more switching.0 -
Opened account 10pm last night and successfully transferred from Santander this morning, recognised CoP.

Unless Nationwide has changed its systems, you can actually overpay into a S2S so long as you withdraw the money before the end of the month. I presume that doing this more than once would be frowned upon, but I did it once and they didn't close my account.I'm struggling to get the message across, I don't have a NW current account, or a NW savings account other than S2S which has a max deposit of £50 p/m. You can do multiple deposits. I've done two so far.bargainqueen8 said:I know you have 14 days to fund the account but is it one deposit only or can you do multiple deposits during that time?tia
T&C says "From day 15, you can’t make any more payments in..." - reads to me that you can make as many payments as you like up until the expiry date.2 -
Up to a max balance of £10K though.allegro120 said:
