Contesting Parking Ticket after Court Judgement

Hi everyone,
I’ve read through the Newbies thread, and tried to make sense of the actions I need to take. However, I can’t understand where to begin, so help would be greatly appreciated.

I received letters from BWLegal, acting on behalf of UKPPO. Overstayed at the infamous Wembley Retail park by about 20minutes, due to having to take care of family.
I didn’t reply to the letters at the time being nervous and unsure on how to deal with this - had a lot going on personal and work life, just no time to get my head around this (I understand, my fault.)
Now about a year later, the case has gone through the judgement and I’ve discovered a CCJ on my credit file. I’d had a few letters in the post just not realised how to deal with it.

Is there anyway to have this CCJ removed despite still living at the same address the ticket was issued?
Any direction would be most helpful. Thank you.

Are you saying that you received a County Court Claim and other stuff but totally ignored it all?
If that's the case then I cannot see any way that the Judgment can be removed.3 -

CrystalMummyof2 said:@KeithP Yes unfortunately I didn’t see the pre-Court Judgement letter, I only received the judgement once it had passed.
You say you 'didn’t see the pre-Court Judgement letter'. Does that mean 'the pre-Court Judgement letter', whatever that is, was delivered to you but you didn't 'see' it?
Let's try a different question...
Did you receive a County Court Claim Form and fail to respond to it?
I'm not trying to trick you or anything. Just trying to find out if there is a possible way out for you. But to do that you need to help us.3 -
@KeithP I genuinely appreciate the help, I cant make sense of it all myself.
Basically I don't have any letters from the Court apart from a letter titled 'Judgement for Claimant (in default)'
This letter simply states that I must pay the claimant £277 by installments of £40.
No form, nothing as of such, just a letter saying this is the amount I should pay, dated 26 March 2024.

Does your post usually go astray?
You missed a court claim form. Would anyone in the household have binned it?PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

I suggest that on Tuesday you ring the CNBC in Northampton and get them to email you a copy of the claim form and confirm with you if it was sent to your current address or a previous address
Same with the default CCJ letter, ask for a copy of it to be sent in the same email, so you have copies of both letters
You need paperwork, even if it shows that you failed to respond to an official government letter sent to your present address
Then come back here and tell us if those 2 letters have your current and correct address on them , or not, in order to answer our questions about the name and address being correct

I would not ask for the POC to be emailed now. We are almost certainly still within 4 months of the claim form date so asking for the POC to be served now kills off a good argument.
Better to just ask what the dates and addresses used were. The OP will already know who the solicitors and PPC are, frim the default letter.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

@Coupon-mad Yes my post sometimes goes astray, and I receive alot of post sent with other peoples names as I live in a large complex of flats. Many times its previous tentants post is sent here. I've had parcels stolen too, so its probably lost somewhere.
Is the best course of action to ring Northampton court on Tuesday and ask for the date of judgement and address used? I can do that and message back on here. Thanks everyone

I was mainly interested in whether the correct name and address were used by the CNBC, as asked by Keithp ( not the POC which I never mentioned, just service of official papers. ))
Assuming that the correct details were used, then it was understanding what may have happened to the official letter or letters, whether they were correctly delivered and ignored, or went astray , so probably the latter according to your reply above
Judging by your last post, it seems that they may have gone astray at your large residence, which may be why you didn't respond. So it was more a case of getting to the bottom of what happened with the CNBC letter, especially because you mentioned ignoring other letters
So date of the claim, name and address on the claim and the claim reference number, then check if the default judgment matches
