Santander withdrew my banking services [Merged]

If they are closing it, not immediately shutting it, it's a bit better - you can ask to lodge a formal complaint but you cannot ultimately force them to give you a service
If it's a fraud team decision they cannot give you details. You need to also find out if they have applied for a CIFAS marker or are simply making a decision to close your facilitiesSam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:
People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.

Have they closed it immediately, or have they given you 60 days (or whatever the standard period of notice is) notice?
Either way if they've chosen to close your account, there's not much you can do. Switch it to another bank and move on. Might also be worth checking your credit files for all 3 CRAs (Experian, Equifax and TransUnion), as well as CIFAS and National Hunter to see if there's any information in your records that might've spooked Santander.3 -

I'd whack a complaint in if you can show there is nothing funny going in and out e.g. an unexplained fund which you used to pay the premium bonds for (even if it was legitimate like an inheritance or gambling winnings). You (likely) won't force them to change their minds but at the least you can try and avoid anything nasty like fraud markers

I received a letter from Santander’s fraud department today informing me that they’re withdrawing their banking services from me due to recent activity on my account. It is not my main account the only activity on the account this year has been me transferring money to Premium Bonds because I thought I may as well put the money there because I don't get very good interest with Santander. That is the only recent activity on the account this year so I'm very confused. After reading on forums I'm very anxious there could be a marker on my name despite doing nothing wrong. I've submitted requests to find this out but how can I get the bank to give me more information. When I called they said they can't tell me but allowed me to transfer my money to another account.0

Please don't keep posting the same thing over and over as a new thread, it clogs the forum up 😭0

Santander's fraud department sent me a letter saying they're withdrawing my banking facilities. I've been advised to check my credit reports and submit a request to Cifas which I have done.I did a check with Transunion and it came back as there are no Cifas markers against you. I've read that credit reports won't show this but it specifically mentions it so does that mean it's true that they're are no markers ? Thanks0
