NatWest/RBS My Rewards Update

Well clearly you can exceed the £150 limit, either by moving rewards or by simple transfer from a current account.sausage_time said:
I confirmed with a "post Cora" human chat that you can't exceed the £150 deposit limit. Shame.PRAISETHESUN said:I've had login issues with my RBS rewards profile for years, so I already have to access them through the app. The ability to deposit rewards directly into savings accounts is nice - but kinda naff if you can't use this to exceed the monthly deposit limit on their digital regular savers
What's not clear (at least to me) is what happens to this naughty excess funding.1 -

Transfers to the DRS from a current account in excess of the monthly £150 limit are sent back a few days later as "DRS OVERFUND"

My Rewards credit has been sitting in the Digital Reg Saver account since 21/05. I'll try working out if it's been included in the interest calculation when it gets credited tomorrow.kaMelo said:flaneurs_lobster said:

That's a lot longer than the time taken to refund an overpayment from a current account.flaneurs_lobster said:

It's a long story as to why but I've mistakenly overfunded twice. Looking back it took 5 days on one occasion and six days on the second occasion.0 -
Semi related question, hope you don't mind!
Do I have to use the Standing Orders from my NatWest and RBS Current accounts to pay the monthly £150 into the respective Digital Savers or can I cancel them and pay in directly from my Nationwide Current Account?0 -
You can pay in to the digital savers however you want, I pay into my digital savers via my virgin money account going into NatWest and RBS current accounts then moving the £150 into the digital savers.ThePirates said:Semi related question, hope you don't mind!

What I want to do is avoid Tfr through the NatWest and RBS current accounts. Are they going to complain if I cancel the 2 sanding orders and pay in directly from Nationwide to the Savers?jameseonline said:

Why would they complain?, I don't have standing orders to fund mine.ThePirates said:

You don't have to pay in every month, its not really a traditional regular saver as it pays monthly, only upto £150 pay in (without doing that round up hack or whatever) a month so takes longer to max out at £5000.
So no tie ins/penalties for not funding etc.
Can't see any issues paying in directly as the digital savers have a sort code and account number.
Not sure why you want to avoid going through the current accounts either but it's your choice.
As for me it's just how I've got things setup, could delete the current accounts and setup the digital savers in my payee list I guess1 -
Or tomorrow, it seems, Kroo pay the interest 1st of the month regardless of day, NatWest usually a day after the first working day (backdated) so for me at least, 4th!flaneurs_lobster said:

Transfers to the DRS from a current account in excess of the monthly £150 limit are sent back a few days later as "DRS OVERFUND"Sam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:
People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.

Today, I had £10 arriving in my DRS from my Rewards. That makes £160 paid in for June. Let's see how long it stays there.
