lil me please take my total spend as £210.97
I have not been to supermarket since tuesday, where OH paid for shopping and has now lost reciept. I know it was for approx £20 so have added that amount.
My January challenge finished thursday (24th) cause i got paid. So future budget will run for 4 weeks.
I know my budget is quite high but there is just me and OH. The budget does include all food including OH food for work. He even has to take his own milk. t-bags and coffee. Its also includes all items for our 2 cats, food. cat litter etc.
I have been trying to shop carefully but also not resitrct too much as I wanted to know roughly how much we spend normally.
Am going to keep a total on here as the challenges go by then at the end of the year I can work out an average spend per week.
Just a note for anyone looking for a slow cooker. i was at my mum's and noticed in a Netto leaflet that they are selling Hinari stainless steel slow cookers for under £15. Offer starts this monday'Be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle'0 -
Another £40 ish to add (will confirm on Monday), we're hoping that'll do until the end of the month but that should do us through - hopefully! No longer using this account for new posts from 20130

Hi,
My final figure was £155.65 as I've now been paid. My target was £150.
This means I was over budget but am still pleased as this was my first month back in for ages!
I think I'll try £150 again next month.
Well done all and good luck with their personal challenges. :jWandered away from the MSE track for a while but am back and on a mission! Debts cleared nearly £18k. Now to start saving ...0 -
Really pleased with myself as I went to Sainsbury's but only bought the cat food there - Was really quite tempted by the waft of freshly baked hot cross buns on BOGOF by the front door but I resisted! Then went over the road to Aldi for the first ever time! Stuck to the list and even my DD aged 11 noticed it was cheaper than our normal supermarket! My spend today has brought us up to the £350 target so we must ABSOLUTELY NOT SPEND ANY MORE MONEY ON GROCERIES UNTIL 3RD FEB! Have updated our signature which also includes another £2 coin that I got in change today!
Lil Me - TheBees total for Jan is £350 - dead on target!Mortgage Free in 3 part 2 challenge - pay off £9000

LIL_ME my spend was £251.24p:mad:
In february i would like my challenge to be £200 please:rolleyes:0 -
I've updated my signature but won't be finished until 31st. To date, from my £120 target, I have spent £75.74 including tonight's [STRIKE]foray[/STRIKE] forage that resulted in a spend of £3.65, as follows:
1 x wholemeal loaf 65p
1 pack chicken breast fillets - reduced to £1.50
1 farmfresh chicken - reduced to £1.50
I've kept the chicken fillets out for Sunday dinner and the whole chicken is now in the freezer. In total, I have enough chicken for 4 meals and my challenge is for 3 adults. I'm well pleased with my bargain priced chicken.I'm still trying to decide what to budget for next month as it's only the 29 days. £1440 per year calculated on a daily basis would be £112.25, so I'm torn between cutting it to £100 or really pulling the belt in and going for the equivalent of £3 per day, which would be £87. Hmmm.... can I have a few more days to contemplate, please?
I reserve the right not to spend.
The less I spend, the more I can afford.

Hi all,
my Feb challenge started today, what would have been week 5 in Jan is now week one in Feb as it coincides with my pay day and will be easier to keep track of.
DH did the first shop today and he has learnt quite a lot this last month ( think i`ve nagged him to death) the only thing wrong on the list was the type of flour but i`ll let him off that one.
My total for February will be £160 Lil me and it will be 4 weekly, i will probably have to get a 5 weeker in at some stage or i`ll be doing junes in May lol
Good luck everyone
