We are almost at the end of our month (financially) and I am still within budget. We are being very MSE and having dinner from freezer at home today for my b'day insted of forking out £100 or so on restaurant meals locally. I have decide that my treat can be bought Yorkshire puddings today.

Our pay day is 24th Jan so we have only a few more days to go and I have to say that this is my best January ever as I have nothing owing from Christmas. I would never have been able to do this without MSE. Thanks.

I'm trying to be careful. My problem is that I keep forgetting to add extras like bread and milk, although I never usually spend more than £5 a week on that...if that much!

I've also cut down my budget from £300 to £250 for all 5 of us so I think I'm allowed a bit of leaway ;)

Just back from Mr T - managed to stick to budget despite being seduced by 2 for £5 for Tilda rice. Unfortuntely no free range chicken - I think all the recently publicity has converted a few more people. Just about ot do a store cupboard check to see what I can make.Found tamarind paste yesterday which helped make lovely curry so hoping for some more finds and inspiration!

Hi all, went to mr t again and spent £24.16. Signature updated.
Well stock up on milk now as offer for 't pure milk' runs out on tuesday. Leaves £9.03 to last til 31st but we are well stocked up again. Most of the shop was fresh milk, fruit and veg. Aswell as some of the half price offers currently on. Hoping next month not to spend as much.

Did that last night for supper-ended up with a lovely dhal, basmati rice and chapatti, full as a toad,AND cheaper than a takeaway.
Just off to make some drop scones for tea.

Hi everyone. I managed another nsd today. I should have got some potatoes, cooking oil and ketchup but i decided that the kids can have tuna and pasta for evening meal tonight, so I don't need to buy anything until tomorrow-then I can get the items from a supermarket I'l be passing instead of the local shop-in true mse style!!!
By the way, I too am a fiend when it's totm. I tend to buy cream cakes, chocolate etc etc. and I once went shopping with a couple of mates late at night when I was absolutely p****d and ended up with some trousers and a top that i would never have bought sober!!! Needless to say I never did wear the mand they have since been recycled!!! (those were the days, never see my friends now I have moved!!!)
