January 2008 Grocery Challenge

I've spent £27.09 this week. The bargain of the week was the 2 pints of milk in Tesco reduced from 77p to 8p. We bought 6 as the use by date was two days away and put it in the freezer. 2 pints doesn't last our 3 year old two days, so very pleased with that particular purchase.0

Hi all, just checking in. Trying not to panic, spent a whopping £70 this week. Still, it's not how much you spend, it's what you spend it on, right?:o Trying to be good and cook from scratch but work has been frantic and I've got a massive chocolate craving......in fact, can't think of much else!January grocery challenge £150

Hi everyone. Took eldest DD to shop with me today-I only wanted flour... Spent £5.96!!!!:undecided and the cost of the flour was extortionate!!! but still cheaper than driving to one of bigger supermarkets. (flour was 0.89p, but did have a 20p money off coupon on it that I shall be using at some point).GE 36 *MFD may 2043

2 x Birds Eye Omega (yeah right) fish fingers 99p each pack

i jar Ragu (50p on offer) for 'emergencies'
goats cheese
Ox liver (42p and enough for me for 3 meals)
99p pot of mini daffodils so i can look at them growing on my kitchen windowsill and know that spring IS coming

I managed a NSD today and had a hotchpotch meal. Pasta with sauce made from tin tomatoes, sprinkle of mixed herbs, pinch of mixed spice, chopped up bacon (had 3 rashers in fridge from yesterday lunch) served with grated cheese on top. It tasted lovely and son was out for tea so nobody here to grumble about it
Still planning on using stuff up before buying anything else but getting really low on milk, eggs & flour etc. Off to watch 'It Pays To Watch'I reserve the right not to spend.
The less I spend, the more I can afford.
