Had to pop to Tesco today, ds needed trainers for his outdoor p.e. kit bag and I get the cheapy ones from there as he only wears them once a week max...anyhow thought I would check out any bargains so unfortunately spent a bit more on grocery....however did get yellow stickered bread (3 loaves of posh white stuff for 50p each) and 2 packs mushrooms (the value big packs reduced to 56p which are now chopped bagged and in the freezer) value biccies (which I forgot on Friday) and some milk which we go through tons of so thought I might as well, getting the pure stuff which is on offer for £1 at the moment... I also wanted to go there as I have some points vouchers which run out on Tuesday, so picked up another 100pts on pharmacy (stuff we needed)..

Off to update sig now, will need to reign in now and will try to do a minimal spend next Friday..

I also picked up a bag of casserole beef (frozen and it is cook from frozen) have any of you used this? and if so any good recipes for my slow cooker?

Today is a NO SPEND DAY! :T

I'm concentrating on using up odds and ends throughout this coming week as I have some major catching up to do on my overall budget, so tonight we're just having sausage rolls, chips and beans (all from cupboard/freezer stock) and I've taken out some pork steaks and stewed (homegrown) apples to defrost for tomorrow. There's enough pork and apples to last 2 days so it might mean pork chow mein or stir fry on Tuesday followed by an apple sponge pudding. I've been very good and have frozen individual portions of anything I have made too much of, such as spag bol, cottage pie (from last night) and the spicy pasta. Over the coming week I shouldn't need anything other than milk, bread and fresh veg, so I am staying well within budget for January. But I need to! :rotfl:
I reserve the right not to spend.
The less I spend, the more I can afford.

OMG, I am SO angry with OH.

Recently, we have found our larder to be a bit damp, so we cannot store stuff like flour, sugar etc in it. I have re-homed the sugar and coffee, but as yet have no space for the flour - but its alright, because it will just sift out. However, OH has just gone to use the flour and because he was too stupid/lazy to sift it - he chucked it out. Of course, this sent him into a fit of rage because he could not make Yorkshire Pudding and has now chucked out half the food in the larder - including loads of stuff that was not a problem!!!!  . And while he was busy doing this, he did not notice that he was burning the dinner - so now THAT has gone in the bin too - 2 joints of beef and about 2 kilos of potatoes. I could easily have made mash out of the potatoes, and the beef could have gone on sandwiches. For Gods Sake!!!!

So, as soon as he gets paid, he can give me £50 straight off as that is what he has just thrown away. He can also pay for the takeaway that we will now be getting tonight (we have guests for dinner, but now no dinner to give them!)
We must all suffer one of two things: the pain of discipline or the pain of regret and disappointment
