If he can't understand that what is going on in your life is far more important than a sports game, he's not a friend.

Personally, I would tell him that I don't like his snide remarks and if he doesn't stop, he'll be looking for someone else to go to games with.

I'll remind you of this thread you started almost a year ago:

My friend is rude and ignorant — MoneySavingExpert Forum

Did you take the advice given in that thread?

    Here's what I said:

I think you need to understand the definition of friend.
The person you describe is not a friend.
    He is a user.
Either explain to him how you expect him to behave or cut him out of your life.
    Well...that's what I'd do.

I did think I'd seen this before now you mention it.

The guy is taking the p***

You can't go to this match - end of story

For the future - tell him to pay up, shut up or get lost!

And it's not the only thread the OP has posted about this so-called friend.

Sometimes you just have to accept that someone you have always thought of as a friend is actually a user.

Seems like this friend is like a boyfriend.

Boyfriend Vs girlfriend - pick one.

But even if you choose boyfriend you have not done your duty to your child as a father. As a father you need to protect, provide and care for your child.

What child? What on earth are you talking about?

    It's an old thread.
The game has probably already happened by now.
