PCN Has photos but parking required entry of Reg Number

I was driving my partners car to my gym. The parking notices say the car park is for users of the gym and that they must enter their registration number into a tablet terminal in reception on each visit.
I do this religiously however I've received a PCN with time stamped photos of the car entering and leaving. As the entry of the registration number is a requirement of their notices on site I'm thinking my partner should appeal and ask them to prove that the registration was not entered into the terminal, showing some sort of audit trail to prove the entries in the terminal were being accurately recorded at the time the car was logged as being in the car park.
Does this sound reasonable as a way forward?

Yes, but you are not dealing with a reasonable industry they will wriggle all the way to the bank to take money off you.ANPR and these terminals are notorious for failing and are not fit for purpose.Have you read the newbies thread yet? What did the gym say when you complained that their contractors are hassling a bona fide member?Which bunch of greedy scammers sent you this invoice? Is the NTK PoFA compliant?3

Which PPC?
What was the reason given on the NTK for issuing it?
Where did the alleged event occur? It may have cropped up here before.
Plan A is always a complaint from the keeper to the landowner and the keeper's MP. Remind the landowner that other gyms are available and several family members will be cancelling their membership if every visit comes with a £100 surcharge.
Thoroughly read the sticky Announcement for NEWBIES, and if Plan A fails, then appeal using the template in blue text from said NEWBIES, unaltered from the keeper.I married my cousin. I had to...I don't have a sister.

Thanks so far for your help. I’m answer to a couple of questions-
I've read the Newbies thread, the only differing aspect for this charge is the requirement to log your registration in the reception terminal.
The parking company is Minster Baywatch and they are part of the BPA
I approached the gym (Ultraflex in York) re the parking charge and they say they used to be able to ask them to cancel the fee but now there is a £30 fee, apparently levied by Minster Baywatch.
The reason for issuing is stated as “Vehicle not authorised to use the car park”. No mention is made of the registration not being keyed into their system on the day in question which along with the photographs would form part of their reasoning for it “not being authorised”.I understand about using the template but shouldn’t I include a requirement for them to prove the terminal was recording entered registrations correctly and that mine wasn’t within their records?
thanks again.0 -
Please take photos of the signage there and let us see them, especially if any include the name Bransby Wilson. Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I'd complain to the Gym and ask who was the feckwit that signed a contract with Minster Baywatch that required them to pay £30 each time one of their customers was wrongly issued a PCN. They need to figure out who is the monkey and who is the organ grinder in their contractual relationship.kevinyork said:I approached the gym (Ultraflex in York) re the parking charge and they say they used to be able to ask them to cancel the fee but now there is a £30 fee, apparently levied by Minster Baywatch5 -

The way the OP explained it there was no change to the signed contract, the PPC just imposed a new term on them, but who knows this is PPC la la land!
