Will Inheriting money effect me I am in temporary accommodation

Hi Guys,
Really need some help here, my mother passed away 3 months ago from a aggressive cancer that effected her brain and lungs,
She was in the process of setting up a trust account so in the leading months to when she passed away she has started losing her memory, so she did not get round to doing this as she deteriorated so quickly.
The situation is I have 4 children and I am a single mother only one left from my family surviving to my kids, everyone has passed away.
My question is will I lose my social housing as I am due to inherit money with the sum of 70k GBP,
Is there a way to help as I do not want to lose my housing as this money was never meant to come to me was meant to be left in a trust account.
Now the company that's making the payment will be a life assurance company who will pay this who my mum used to work for, who is refusing to speak to me regarding the payment.
Is there anything I can do as this process has already started and states they will make payment in the next 10 Days.
I'm afraid if they make the payment will I lose my house as I don't even have a permanent place as of yet as I was evicted 3 months ago from my previous temporary accommodation because the landlord wanted his house back to sell.
Please some guidance or some advice would appreciated it.
Thanks for reading guys, hopefully someone can help.

2.3.5 Similarly, where applicants have resources above the level set by the council (£30,000 capital or savings) they will not normally be placed in a band or offered social housing. Households with incomes or assets below these limits will only be banded if they meet the criteria set out in this Scheme.

I just wanted to reassure you that marcia_ is correct. You will not lose your social housing when this payment arrives, but your entitlement to any means-tested benefits will end. Makee sure you tell the DWP (and local council if you receive any benefits from them) as soon as possible to avoid any overpayment of benefits.
If you are not already claiming Universal Credit, you will need to claim Universal Credit when your savings drop below £16,000. You should be careful about what you spend your inheritance on. The DWP can decide that you still have some of your inheritance if you spend if in a way that they think means you have tried to deprive yourself of your savings so that you can claim Universal Credit. You can spend the money on food and all your normal bills, and on replacing appliances and furniture that have broken down and cannot be repaired, and on repaying debts. Keep the receipts for any large purchases and debt repayments, and perhaps keep some notes about why appliance/furniture could not be repaired (The best evidence is a quote from a repair company that is more than 50% of the cost of what you bought as a replacement).
You can also take a modest holiday or two, but the DWP don't want to see that you blew all the money on a round-the-world cruise or a race horse! The comments I post are my personal opinion. While I try to check everything is correct before posting, I can and do make mistakes, so always try to check official information sources before relying on my posts.0 -

There's a big difference between not being offered social housing and being order to leave after receiving money.

This is just a general observation but how broken is the system if people are about to inherit a life changing sum of money and are seeing it as a hinderance and a burden, rather than a massive help?

If someone has been claiming benefits for some time the thought of now having to now support yourself without state help is a big change and people don't like change. It's not that inheriting a large sum is a hindrance, just maybe a bit scary for some.3

If I had £70,000 I would happily come off benefits. That money could support me and my partner comfortably for 3-4 years. I'm fact if I had £16,000 I'd happily come off since that's a years income.
