Will Inheriting money effect me I am in temporary accommodation

Yes, and also for some people not yet migrated to UC, an amount that takes the claimant just over 16,000 means that when they do reclaim their income would be significantly lower - this would happen to us if we inherited anything.Muttleythefrog said:
Probably that sort of inheritance will last a few years at most...single mother with 4 kids likely even less.. then the person will not be back to square one but having to start from zero in reclaiming unless their circumstances have notably changed for 'better'. The system is broken in that claiming benefits can be such a huge emotional drain and so demanding that you can feel you are losing something you've fought to get and retain. It's often a safety net people fear losing plus of course sometimes inheriting a lot of money can feel scary and like a burden if you're not used to having to deal with something like that.la531983 said:This is just a general observation but how broken is the system if people are about to inherit a life changing sum of money and are seeing it as a hinderance and a burden, rather than a massive help?
Plus I think the inheritance also represents the loss of someone the claimant loves. In most cases we would rather have the person still alive than the money, which means the inheritance isn't thought of as a positive thing.2
