My question is not about the legal side of the process, working in the law I do understand what is going on there - my question is who is taking responsibility for my claim as Vauxhall Finance went into liquidation? I know Stellantis now deal with the financing of Vauxhall sales but are they duty bound to honour my claim even if it was not with them? Or is there someone else who will take on the Vauxhall Finance claims under these proceedings? Just want to know (a) that it will be dealt with and (b) by whom! Anyone else in this boat with Vauxhall Finance?

Normally, if the firm no longer exists because it's been dissolved and not bought out by a new company, then you cannot complain to an entity that no longer exists.

With normal complaints in that scenario, the FSCS would typically be a route you would take. However, the FSCS cannot be used for mass redress schemes.

So it's likely that you will be out of luck on this one unless Stellantis took on the assets of the company along with its liabilities.
