Yes we know that it has just changed but I'm not updating the advice yet because most people are still getting the old paper version, as you did.  Certainly use the 2022 version.

  • I received a N157 b (Notice of Hearing) below  a few months ago .. But nothing since

Reading between the lines, I am assuming this will be struck out .. I could not imagine the claimant will pursue this after reading the defence we have devised, am I right?

If so I guess I should just wait until the 23rd to see if the claim is closed ,  before thinking about writing or creating a witness statement ?

    TIA

Look again at your Notice of Allocation.
Is there not a paragraph something like:
Each party must deliver to every other party and to the court office copies of all documents on which he intends to rely at the hearing no later than [ . . . ] [14 days before the hearing].
    Might be on the back.
Those 'documents on which you intend to rely' are your Witness Statement and evidence.

    These words...

    ...combined with...

...tell you that your Witness Statement and evidence must be filed with the court and served on the Claimant by 4pm on 6th February 2025.

    There are no pages missing.

You were expecting WS stage because the NEWBIES thread tells you all about it and where to find examples of WS and which Exhibits to append, too. It's already there for you.

So today, the claimant's solicitors 'Gladstones' sent an email asking 'do you accept service of documents by email, which may include witness statement and trial bundle?'

Should I be accepting this, are there any implications?

Sorry if already aware, but your hearing is at Hertford and the letter asks you to email your bundle to Watford. I had a hearing in Hertford and sent my WS to enquiries.hertford.countycourt@justice.gov.uk
