Everest Double Glazing in administration

So the creditors were under the impression Anglian were going to fulfil orders without additional money from customers, I spoke with them yesterday. Although I was told there is nothing they can do. I have been going over documents and there was a letter from the creditors in June stating customers were to pay Anglian outstanding debt. If you did not want to proceed with Anglian, then you had to submit as an unsecure creditor but as there is no money, this seemed pointless. We have been unable to get any meaningful contact with Anglian for two months, simply being told to wait and they would be in touch. Having paid over 85% of our order already we feel absolutely sick. I would encourage others to read the documents from administrators that are available with a log in. Within the proposal document it states the condition of the sale to Anglian. I’d appreciate if anyone would let me know if they get anywhere with complaints etc.

"Anglian are pleased to have reached an agreement with Everest's administrators to fulfil your Everest Contract under the existing terms including honouring the price."
In Anglian's emails to me:
"Anglian Home Improvements are keen to support in what we know has been a very difficult situation, and hope that this fantastic news will go some way towards alleviating any concerns you may have had regarding the completion of your Everest order."
"Our implementation team will now process your information. Rest assured that we will be in contact with you as soon as we can to fulfil your contract and complete your home improvement project."
It is all over the media how Anglian has swooped in to save Everest's customers, even quotes from its CEO. I do not think there is any doubt that Anglian will fulfil Everest customer's orders and not once gave the impression it will not. I will pursue this further with Anglian and will complain to everyone I can. It has lied and wasted customers' valuable time in waiting for Anglian to do something and now it won't with an answer it should have told people from the start. Its answer that it will complete the order with a 20% discount is ridiculous. Everest already was the most expensive and so this 20% is what they would have offered if Everest still existed. There is no benefit for the customer to be told Anglian has taken over Everest's assets.
I am going to complain to Anglian about this as well as all regulatory and ombudsman bodies. I will also request to see what agreement was made with ReSolve regarding existing Everest orders, as how come it said it will fulfil their orders, and now it won't.
I'm no fan of Anglian for various reasons, but I fail to see how they are the bad guys here. Unless the wording of those emails confirmed they were simply going to complete your order and put any balance you'd paid Everest towards it? Is that what they said?
No, I don't have a contract with Anglian. I had a contract with Everest. ReSolve said Anglian has taken over outstanding contracts that were with Everest. Therefore, Anglian took responsibility for Everest's contracts. That is what ReSolve and Anglian said at that time. Now, Anglian is saying something else. so they have wasted my time. As for "free to purchase elsewhere", I'm not a millionaire that I have money to spend on more windows and ignore the thousands of pounds I gave Everest.
I spoke to someone at Anglian who said that when it was agreed with ReSolve in taking over the contracts from Everest, they thought that only deposits had been paid, not more. Any customers who only paid the deposit with Everest will get their work completed, but anyone who paid more will not. How were the books not reviewed properly before Anglian made the agreement with ReSolve? Why was this not communicated to Everest customers that there is a potential Anglian won't fulfil their orders if they paid more than the deposit? Why were customers told their contracts "will" be fulfilled rather than "may"? Why did it take so long to tell customers this development? I asked if there was any way to do some of the work I had paid Everest for, to amend the original agreement to fit with what Anglian can do, at least with the amount of deposit I paid, change the number of windows or type of windows. Nothing. Anglian only can deal with the original agreement that was with Everest.
As for ReSolve, it has been useless in contacting customers about any of this. I have contacted it last week and still no response.
ReSolve and Anglian has made it well known in the media how they came to save the day, but have stayed quiet about this development. I will contact the media so that a truthful representation of both ReSolve and Anglian can be told.0 -

I just read part of the administrator’s filing at company house.£15.8 mn in customer deposits etc - not a pence being paid
£5 mn to HMRC - who will get like 1% of that (so we are indirectly hit as the tax payors)
£8 mn to the PE firm - getting 15% of that - at least on paper
there’s a history of what went wrong - blaming it all on cost of living, nothing to do with the not fit for purpose product or management. So basically right after we got our order made they lost their upvc supplier ,,, hence the new product line and why Everest was not able to make the product that we ordered (but for which incorrect product was installed) nor resolve issues with our frames and stalled for a year..There was a five month period where they weren’t sure if would get another upvc supplier as well as a period where they needed a new bank - yet they intensified marketing. And would explain the delays people wrote about on trust pilot. And I agree with The poster about how it’s portrayed as Anglian saving the day. We too were told no go by them.I would love if the media covered this - if only it would change rules in these pre pack bankruptcies and put more financial controls in place.0 -
… and it does say where possible customers will have the opportunity to have Anglian carry out the projects in full. So enough outs. Also - Anglian initially agreed to buy company i(sounds like in another pre pack!) but then pulled out. One sticking point seems to be the £5 bn owed to HMRC. In end the PE firm over ruled management & brought in Resolve.Should have read on - Anglian paid £1.2 mn including the order book and all the finished goods (so why refusing to install for the poster is odd). This gets more interesting. Ths money owed to HMRC appears to be PAYE and unpaid VAT £5mn worth.Everest was keeping Evolution afloat - so despite its own issues paid £400k for it in October 2023 and another £770k on working capital etc. it covered - of which only received £350k selling assets in May.
administrator getting at least £1.3 mn for its work including £185k for handling email & phone contact with customers.0 -

Do you know of any forums or other such places of Everest customers in the same situation as us? What have they done and who have they contacted? I contacted ReSolve by email and telephone but am being ignored. I am drafting an email explaining everything that happened and sending it to ReSolve, Anglian and any associated ombudsman and regulators, both in the window and insolvency industry.0 -
