Addendum to previous post - Did almost the same route again yesterday, but with an additional ~55 miles, with a detour to some friends, totalling about 330miles. So 'for fun', thought I'd see what difference speed would make, and drove all the 70mph sections at 66mph, and got yet another surprise with efficiency settling in around 235Wh/mile.

Slightly too far to risk testing the 'reserve tank' to get home without charging, plus had Wifey with me, who was not game to try it anyway. So admitted defeat and stopped for a pee and small supercharge top up, with 207 miles completed and 32% remaining [edit - left home with 99%].

Again all driving conditions were good, helping with range, but didn't really expect to see a potential range of ~300 miles with motorway driving included for a Model Y.

The Tesla 3 Highland's must be 'scoring' some mighty impressive numbers.
Mart. Cardiff. 8.72 kWp PV systems (2.12 SSW 4.6 ESE & 2.0 WNW). 20kWh battery storage. Two A2A units for cleaner heating. Two BEV's for cleaner driving.

Spent 3 weeks with friends in Atlanta. They've a Model 3 Tesla. Now 3 years old. Battery performance has degraded significantly but stabilised. Likewise they only recharge to 80% capacity. For longer trips they still resort to the diesel SUV as a consequence.

Was it standard or long range and how did they determine the degradation?

Long range. Mileage achieved on a charge covering the same frequent journey. Open interstate where it is possible to cruise effortlessly.

What was also interesting was that on their "estate" the HOA do not allow the installation of solar panels on properties.  The US in many regards still lags behind the rest of the world. Apparently this is far from uncommon.  Snobbery outweighs any concerns for the environment. Money wields the influence and dictates what others can and cannot do.

And another award, but I don't quite get the 2024 classification!

"Tesla sued for 'systemic' racism at its Fremont, California plant", according to an article in The Register:

    If it sticks, force it.
If it breaks, well it wasn't working right anyway.
