    Doing the above on private car parks is no guarantee of never receiving a PCN 

    Avoidance is certainly worth doing, but the amount of traps out there mean that you may never avoid all of them 

    My relative received one a couple of years ago because the parking company obtained incorrect vehicle details 

    Other keepers get them because somebody else was driving their vehicle, usually due to overstaying, not complying with signage, taking a risk , all sorts of reasons 

    Stopping at red lights or zebra crossings etc at airports is quite a common reason for getting a PCN , or in bus lay-bys there whilst setting up or checking the satnav, or dropping off or picking up
