Safest/Fairest way to sell

I have a low value item circa £10 that I advertised locally and someone wants me to post.
What's the fairest way to sell for both sides.
ebay BIN with paypal?

I know it's not a lot of money but interest in the answer anyways.

    Why involve ebay?
Unless it was ebay you originally advertised it on?

If you have a PayPal account the buyer can pay you via PayPal for the item plus postage plus the paypal fees and you just post it to the address given by paypal.  Log into your paypal account to check the payment and address rather than an address given in an email

I had something similar with a CD somebody wanted me to post, I advertised on FB marketplace. I sent them a Paypal link, they never paid, I had the feeling it was a scam of some sort. They kept asking for my bank details so they could pay me directly. Be cautious. Not worth much effort for a tenner.

Everything that we have been sold has been done on Gumtree and cash on collection only.  Lots of comments about "give me your bank details and I'll send a courier to pick up".  No.

There are things that can go wrong with giving bank details but it is the safest, and, usually, cheapest, way to get paid. If you're concerned about using a main bank account have one that you only use for payments like that and transfer the money to your main account when it arrives.

A lot of my Facebook marketplace buyers use bank transfers, for some odd reason some buyers seem to think it’s safer than using PayPal G and S, I don’t ask for it as I think a seller asking solely for a bank transfer looks scammy, but will always take it if I am asked.

We had this discussion on a selling group I belong to, the end consensus was that buyers sometimes misunderstand the warnings given about bank transfers. Most of the private groups I use don’t allow a seller to even mention a bank transfer, but we can take them if buyer particularly insists, we wondered if buyers therefore think we are cheating them somehow by insisting on PayPal, and not taking a bank transfer as it is somehow not as safe for a seller.

I sell rarely on marketplace itself, perhaps a couple of sales a month at the moment by post if I’m lucky , but I sell a fair bit on other FB groups and about 1 in 3 of my sales is paid for by BT.

Depending on size and weight RM48 is an excellent service to look at.

    Isn't PayPal more easily reversible?
I'd go for a bank transfer over PayPal if I were the seller

buyer refused, due to previous non-delivery.
I used paypal and evri tracked and all was fine.
