I kill the call as soon as I've said 'me'.0 -

This is one of those situations were I usually say 'don't take it personally' they are just doing a job.
By the way the correct answer to 'Do you mind if I ask why?' is
"Not at all, ask away, just don't expect an answer."I don't care about your first world problems; I have enough of my own!0 -
But, if you're not interested in a boiler, why would you go through all this? Why wouldn't you simply say 'no, thanks' when you realise it's a sales call and put the phone down? Why, if you don't want a new boiler, would you sit and listen to their spiel about it?Would you stop in the street and listen to every charity collector who approaches you? Hopefully not, you'd probably say 'no, thanks' immediately and move on. Why should a phone call be any different?0

You do realise that this person would have been in a call centre & probably have their calls checked by a manager, so if they said "Oh, ok no bother bye" when you say "Im not interested" they would be told they need to try harder?0

How about “If you have to phone me up trying to sell it, then it isn’t the best deal. The best deals sell themselves.”
Or “I spend enough time on MSE to know that people who are badgered into signing up to things by phone then regret them, and find them very difficult or impossible to get out of.” They’d probably tell you you had 100 days to change your mind if they thought it would get them a sale, but very often that isn’t the case.
“I only have your word that you’re from x company. You could be a fraudster for all I know.”0
