Just a heads up that there seems to be a new switch offer from Lloyds - but only via referral and only available if the referrer has been sent the offer. So somewhat limited, and, as it's a referral one, outside the rules of this forum to actually get involved within the forum.

But worth checking your email if you're an existing Lloyds customer, just in case you're being invited to take part (I'm not btw!).

Terms are here: https://www.lloydsbank.com/current-accounts/landing/refer-a-friend.html

Note that it is ONLY if you have a referral and ONLY if that's from someone who's been invited to refer. Runs from 09/04/2024 to 06/05/2024. 150 to the referred, 50 to the referee.

Edited to add, just in case anyone is tempted - please don't offer or ask for referrals here, as that would be against the forum rules and the whole thread could end up being deleted!

My wife and I have both checked our emails from Lloyds - sadly no switching offer invites received, only invites to view bank statements. I wonder if that is because we opted out of marketing at some point. Dang, could have really used an extra £300.

I wonder where they got the idea for this offer from?  ;)

I also wonder what the criteria are for them choosing which of their customers get a precious referral email?
Is it like the recent First Direct offer where the privileged elite A list customers got a gift card for making 20 debit card payments while the Z list peasant customers got the chance of winning a manky Gregg's sausage roll?  :#

Is email the only way one knows they're invited? I've not received it if so either (yet).

A couple of other things of note -
    1. £1.50 increase in packaged account costs from July, hadn't clocked that before (not that it affects me)
    2. Another Lloyds switching offer, it's been a long while now since we've seen a Halifax one.

    • You as referrer must have received the email from us with the switch offer.
    So I'm guessing yes.

I think the last Halifax one was around a year ago?

Maybe a little more recent than that - I guess my point is that LBG seem to be more keen on pushing Lloyds via switching incentives than Halifax; it's a reversal of situation up to a few years ago when Halifax had all the offers.
  • I received the email, but I don't have ten friends (who want to switch to Lloyds)  :D:D:D

It’s the same for Bank of Scotland, they offer an inferior product compared to Club Lloyds and they haven’t had a switching offer for years.

Halifax is (a trading name of) Bank of Scotland

Bank of Scotland (trading as Bank of Scotland, at least) have never offered a switching bonus.
