Wondering how folks spilt this up, this is what I was doing

Cash ISA 45%
(75% easy access & 25% fixed)
S&S ISA 45%
(90% equity 10% bonds)
Gold 10%

Any thoughts?

Hope you haven't spilt too much!

Naturally there'll be wide variations in asset splits, depending on a range of factors, including age, income (own and household), job stability, anticipated expenditure, requirements for accessible money, total aggregate wealth, whether or not pensions are included, attitude to risk, etc, etc, so raw numbers by themselves aren't going to be particularly informative, i.e. some will be 100% cash and others a very low percentage, and both could be appropriate for their own circumstances....

Yes, so many factors particularly age.

Interesting split for the Cash ISAs. I put quite a lot in fixed rate about a month ago, but I'm wondering now whether the current offerings are worth it. Some of the easy access accounts might turn out to be better, but who knows? And I'm also thinking about whether the easy access are "flexible" or not.

My cash ISAs were 100% easy access but have started moving some to fixed. Probably end up with a 50/50 spilt, with at least 3 months salary in the easy access.

Without pension I'm about 50% equities, 50% cash.
With pension it's more like 75% equities, 25% cash.

It's towards the aggressive end of the scale so not for everyone but I've been through enough market slumps to be comfortable with it.

(and I flinch whenever anyone mentions investing in gold!)

Cash ISAs 60% (all fixed rate)
    S&S ISAs 20% (mostly LISAs)
non-ISA cash 20% (mostly regular savings about to mature, at which point most of this will join the fixed rate cash ISAs)
I’m saving up to pay off my mortgage when the fixed term ends - after that I expect more in S&S, particularly pension
