Has any one got any ideas on this, i was paying 14.99 for internet from virgin media , was getting the intro price from last year as i was new customer. However now it has gone up to 18.99 for the same package. Should i threaten to leave and hopefully they wont call my bluff (and maybe lower to 14.99) , or cancel my contract with them and get back with them as a new customer deal (if this is indeed possible) ...has anyone had any dealings with this before... any help would be much appraicated ...
cheers guys

Are you out of contract? Because they won't listen to any retention offer plea's from yourself unless you're out of contract.
If you are, give them a call however i doubt if you're able to get a deal any better than £14.99.
I Wouldn't recommend canceling & then joining again as a new customer as you could possibly incur penalty charges0 -
I think i am as i only had contract for 12 months... will look up that thread, i mean if i get BB for 14.99 i would be happy....0

I think i have just scraped through the door migrated from BT and went live Thur 27/12 for £10 per month for 12 months. 8mb unlimited with free national calls evening and weekend. this will do for the duration of the contract.
Noticed a slight drop in speed but it may take a few days to stabilise.
Also went through quidco but did not track ticket raised for £27 cash back which i will hopefully receive.0 -

Are you by any chance talking about the Virgin (Non Cable) offer http://allyours.virginmedia.com/html/internet/noncable.html
for which you have to add the cost of a landline.0 -
Unlimited° Broadband & Talk (Bundle Two)
Your phone calls are routed via virgin but you can override this while you still pay BT your phone line rental0 -

Thanks for clarifying.
The OP was talking about VM Cable Broadband you have signed up for VM Non Cable, a totally different game of soldiers.:D
The Option you got is now £14.99p a month. Plus the cost of a BT Landline £11 a month makes a fairly expensive £25.99p a month.0 -
On the OP I see no mention of Cable,
Non - cable the cost of £10 for the service of 8mb and the free calls can't be beaten take it from me i looked all sorts of inducements and offers from others but in terms of hard cash this was the one.
I can't get cable in my area, the exchage has got limited LLU operator presence.
Anyway best wishes from north of the border for 2008.0 -

How did you get 8Meg for £10??? I signed up a couple of weeks ago and paid £9.99 for the 1Meg option.
