New cash ISA

Options
Can I open a new Cash ISA in a new financial tax year, while still paying into my Help to Buy ISA monthly (the max £200 allowance) that I opened approx 2-3 years ago?
thank you

Also, can I still have an open cash ISA e.g. Help to Buy that I’m no longer actively paying into this tax year (waiting to buy a house) and open a new active cash ISA

You can pay into a Help to Buy ISA and a cash ISA with another provider for the first time this tax year under the new rules, as both are cash ISAs. In practice you probably can’t pay into a cash ISA with the provider holding your Help to Buy ISA and that Help to Buy ISA, unless they are one of the portfolio ISA providers, as most providers haven’t yet updated their systems to allow customers to fully benefit from the new freedoms and subscribe to multiple cash ISAs with them.

You can also leave the Help to Buy in place and pay into another cash ISA - you only need to close the Help to Buy at the point you become a property owner, as you’ll no longer be eligible to hold the product at that point.
