I wanted to provide an update regarding the case. I have received a letter confirming the court date. I am still receiving phone calls from the DBC. When I answer, they put me on hold and do not engage in a conversation. I don't wait and hang the phone down.

This is more a matter of reading the NEWBIES thread section on WS and evidence now.  It is all covered there and you just need to do a search for NEWEST parking witness statements

It's past the first 12 steps and close to when DCB will discontinue.  But you will have to prepare your WS & evidence in case, because the court has given you a deadline now.

Thank you I have started to work on my defence. Additionally, DBC contacted me and the representative stated, "For your information, our calls are recorded," before requesting my address and name, among other details. I remained polite and clarified that they were calling me, not the other way around. I also disagreed with the call recording and mentioned that I was not obligated to provide my details since they initiated the call.

Additionally, they followed up with an email offering me a 70% discount, which I found quite surprising. However, I will be responding, stating that I do not accept their offer, the only acceptable discount is 100%, as I will not be making any payment to them. If they do not agree, the matter will proceed to court.

Surely you have already submitted your defence, shouldn't you be working on your Witness Statement?

Update to this date: Received an email stating:

Dear

We act for the Claimant in the above matter.   

Our client has instructed us to discontinue Court proceedings and close our file. Therefore, please find enclosed the Claimant’s N279 Notice of Discontinuance for your records.  

The attached has also been filed with the Court. 

 We will now proceed to close our file accordingly. 

I would like to thank all of you for your help and assistance.
