It did become mandatory earlier this year BUT which of the N180 forms did they send you, the one with the mandatory mediation or one without?

The one without an option for mediation, A1 has two tick boxes Yes No. I choose No

The OP was sent the old version of the forms and completed and returned the old version.

If you have already told the CNBC via DQ - N180, one would assume that you have therefore told mediation service that you will not be available for certain dates, I would follow up with an e-mail (not a phone call) explaining that you are not available, they already know that and for for the avoidance of doubt, here are the dates when you will NOT be available.
Le Kirk, I noted on the N180 form the dates that I will not be available and that I do not agree to the Mediation.  I double-checked it, ensuring I selected NO in the A1 Section. However, I think it became a mandatory thing.
Yes it did 'become a mandatory thing' but if HMC&TS send you an older version of the form and you reasonably completed and returned it, then they simply cannot move the goalposts and say "ah, mediation is now compulsory".

    So there are two issues...
    1. They have totally disregarded the date(s) of your non-availability, and
    2. They have totally ignored your perfectly valid preference of 'no mediation'.

    Earlier today you showed us...

Attach to your email a copy of the completed N180 that you sent to the CNBC earlier.

But mediators don't see the N180.

Just tell them that you ticked 'no' and this meritless parking claim form was dated prior to the end of May (when compulsory Mediation started) so cancel the Appointment.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
