Definitely not worth the hassle. They have very limited information so they will just ask you to wait another 8 weeks before phoning again.

So I think mine is most definitely at security checks. Had to make an amendment as I placed wrong expenses figures in. The amount I originally had as bank repayment pending still says pending but it now says I owe them an amount as the refund reduced.

HMRC undoubtedly will tell you to check again with them in a number of weeks -  that number being whatever feels appropriate at the time with no basis whatsoever. 

You need to understand that the HMRC employee has absolutely no idea when the return will be captured, repayment approved, repayment processed  - anything really! The entire process is not within the employee’s control. 

You could save yourself some stress by ignoring the guesswork on this thread.

I'm guessing that a lot of the peeps constantly checking for the last few weeks have tax deducted under CIS? You need to understand that part of any review is that what you tell matches what is on the contractors return, or returns if multiple. As the contractor has until the 19th April to make the final return up to 5th April then........you do the maths
