I've posted my Defence and received an automated claims response from CNBC@justice.gov.uk
I guess I just wait and see what happens now. Hopefully they will send some better incriminating evidence or back off. Will advise in due course

Hello all.
I have just received a solicitors (DCB Legal) letter notifying me that their client (the PPC) intends to proceed with the claim.
The email has an attached N180 Claimant's Directions Questionnaire which they state they have filed a copy with the court.
I assume I now have to wait for my own Defendant Directions Questionnaire. Will the CNBC send me this to complete & email back to DQ.CNBC@justice.gov.uk am I correct in this assumption?
The letter also mentions: "...in order to assist the Court in achieving its overriding objective, our client may be prepared to settle this case - in the event you wish to discuss settlement, please call us on 02********* within 7 days and make immediate reference to this correspondence."
I certainly don't intend to call them to settle!
Should I respond/acknowledge their solicitors email at all? There is also mention of a mediation service appointment, is this organised by the CNBC too?
Any advice or guidance anyone has is appreciated.0 -
You are hopefully following the eight steps in the defence template thread, where you will see that this is an expected step.3

2) no need to assume anything, just follow the 8 steps, check your MCOL claim history to see when it's been sent
3) yes, by post, file it when it arrives ( no paperwork involved )
3a) you DOWNLOAD the N180 DQ document, fill it in and email it, so all electronically, no paperwork, easy easy
4) definitely not
5) definitely not
6) correct, a simple phone call, mentioned in the defence template thread2 -

And every day, even though this expected reply is already in the first 8 steps everyone follows. But we're glad you posted because we need you! Please read this message and do the vital current Public Consultation:

It's important that the Government hears from people with unfair charges who are facing horrific, scary court claims.
The link shows the two vital points to concentrate on, IMHO:
- banning 'fee' add-ons completely.
- making sure a new SINGLE appeals service replaces POPLA and the IAS which are seen as not fully independent and involved in a 'race to the bottom'.
Click through to the main thread about the Consultation, Do not be deterred by the fact that some questions are for the parking industry only.
We are currently discussing how to respond. Please join us in doing this Consultation. This is your one chance to make a difference re the proper regulation of private parking.

Thanks @Coupon-mad and @Gr1pr some good enlightening advise.
My MCOL history thus far is:
- Your acknowledgment of service was submitted on 03/06/2025 at 17:39:57
- Your acknowledgment of service was received on 04/06/2025 at 08:06:05
- Your defence was received on 15/07/2025
Probably a silly question but, Just wanted to clarify that after entering my signature there is a box for:
"Legal representative for the"
(with options)
*first, *second, *third, Claimant, *Defendant, *Party 20 Claimant
Do I leave this all blank as I am defending myself.
Finally. Once I have completed my N180 I should download a copy and attach it to an email and send it to DQ.CNBC@justice.gov.uk and also the claimants solicitor. Should I send a paper copy to their solicitor as well?

Ji all. A quick update.
I've just received a letter from the PC Solicitor with a blank paper copy M180.
The cover letter asks me to take notice that this is a defended claim.
Not sure why they sent this as I have filled this all out online.
I've checked my MCOL and it states:
Case Stay Lifted 2/9/25
DQ sent 2/9/25
DQ filed by Claimant 2/9/25
Still no mediation call. I guess I stay patient as it looks like they want this to go to court. Any thoughts?0
