When you started this thread you had nearly three weeks to file a Defence.

As said earlier, you have until 4pm on Wednesday 24th April to file a defence.
That's now less than six days away.

But you definitely TRY to get it cancelled as well as defending it.  Even though this complaint should have been done months ago, why would you not bother to try?

  • Sorry I wasn’t sure what was best to do whilst I am defending it. Still trying to put the defence together but not sure about it. Never done anything like this before apologies.

Which is why we have a template defence that only requires new posters to add one simple paragraph of facts they do know about.

No-one has done this before (in most cases) but it takes most posters half an hour.  It's easier than writing an appeal!

    1. The Defendant attended McDonald’s car park on 21 October 2023 and as a paying customer at said car park remained inside the restaurant for the duration of their stay. The Defendant was accompanied with their child, who was enjoying the using the iPads provided inside the establishment along with the colouring facilities also available. The Defendant proceeded to make another purchase from McDonalds 33 minutes after the initial order was made, therefore resulting in an extension of time spent inside the building and subsequently time parked in the car park. The Defendant was totally unaware of the time limitations set on the car park as signs could not be seen clearly in the car park or around the restaurant.
    2. When contacting McDonald’s to make a complaint about the fine it was advised that they would make an attempt to cancel the claim although there was no guarantee. McDonald’s also advised asked why there had been a delay in the claimant contacting them because ‘these fines can be removed very easily if flagged to us within the first 2 weeks.’ McDonald’s also advised they have ‘recently introduced 4 new notices within the restaurant. Putting emphasis that the sign are unclear.
  • Maybe more like a WS than a defence…

They aren't fines.  Don't call them that.

I assume that's your paragraphs 3 & 4 and you'll re-number the rest of the template (don't show us the 30-odd paragraph template defence though).

Fines = speculative invoices or parking charge notices.
  • Thank you 🙏🏻 is this all I need to put then or could I add anything else? Just out para 3,4 then the rest of the template and it’s all ok?
