Newbies/FAQ thread, second post explains in detail how to respond to a claim. The Template defence thread has a 12 point checklist to follow once you have submitted your claim.
When you say "date of service" is Friday 22nd March do you mean that the "date of issue" on the claim form is Sunday 17th March? If so, you had until 4pm today to submit your AoS. If you have filed your AoS on time, you then have until 4pm Friday 19th April to file your defence. If you have not yet submitted your AoS, do so IMMEDIATELY otherwise you are at serious risk of receiving a CCJ by default.
Then again, if you meant that the "Issue date" of the claim is Friday 22nd March, you have until 4pm Wednesday 10th April to submit your AoS. By submitting your AOS on or, preferably before that date, you would then have until 4pm on Wednesday 24th April to submit your defence.
So... which of the above dates applies to your case?2 -

DCBL invariably discontinue before a hearing.
Provided you do what you're supposed to do and meet your deadlines, you've got this.
Aknowledgement of Service is easy, as is the Defence. The Witness Statement can take a bit of time but there are plenty of resources on the forum to help you.
The advice on here is top notch, with a 99% win rate for people who put the time in.
They won't do it for you though. Have a read of the NEWBIES thread (2nd post is for Court Claims) but try and read and digest all of it, it'll make your journey much easier going forward.2 -
Thank you all my apologies date of issue is 22nd. Still unsure what I am doing even after reading the thread though.0

It is not rocket science, but is is not painting by numbers either. Kep reading, the penny will drop eventually. You never know how far you can go until you go too far.1
