Suing Santander

I am in the precess of starting proceeding in the Cardiff County Court against Santander.
They closed my account down in September 23 and didn't notify me. I logged on mid December 23 and there's no money there in my account.
I sent a Subject Access Request and they have not complied. I have no idea what is happening with my money, <100k
So problem .....who do I sue ?
Santander UK ?
CEO Santander UK ?
Joe Bloggs .......?
This is important, it has to be accurate .
Anyone know ?
Cheers for any help offered

Previous thread in December: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6493316/debanked/p1 Probably a wind-up. OP stated that they live in Thailand.3 -
I would wager there is a fair bit missing from this story.3

You probably should consult a lawyer before trying to sue a bank, they can help determine the particulars. An important question they might ask is "have you complained and subsequently escalated your complaint to the FOS?" followed by "if not, why not?".I'm not a lawyer, but as I understand it the courts don't favour claimants who have not sought to remedy their issues by other avenues where they exist beforehand.3

I really enjoyed the December thread, but it was then closed as it descended into complete farce
Good luck with your quest in suing Santander!! P.S. Are you still in Thailand?1 -
Presumably you are claiming a breach of contract and so you sue the entity you were in contract with. Current accounts in the UK would be with Santander UK plc (02294747)0

If it exists still it's not closed. If it was closed in September you can't have seen it empty in December.
As others have said it's likely they're writing to you, on paper, in the UK. So unless you've checked for post at your last UK address it may be that the notifications and explanations are there.0 -

You could try to sue them, but it would probably be better to speak to them and ask where your money is. If a cheque's gone missing then it can be re-issued, or they might be able to transfer the funds electronically.
Sueing a bank is generally not advisable - they have lawyers who will defend the claim, and a court works on the basis of law rather than the 'fair and reasonable' approach taken by the Ombudsman. The reason the Ombudsman exists is to enable customers to obtain redress where there are errors or failures on the part of their bank, without having to resort to costly court action.1
