In a few years time people will be saying how dated grey makes a place look.
Some of us have been saying that for a while now :)

Quite a lot of us… the light in the UK is all wrong for grey. Having recently moved into an almost all grey house, I am even more convinced it is wrong. Grey walls, grey floor, grey kitchen, grey wardrobes, grey carpet, grey tiles. It is unbelievably depressing!

I tentatively said ‘It’s been in fashion for a while now’ to a friend who was planning a (north-facing) grey kitchen. She told me grey is the new magnolia!

We moved here in Feb 21 & inherited master (south facing) & guest (north facing) bedrooms painted light grey with grey tiled en suites. Neither room feels depressing, though they both have good quality light oatmeal (?) carpets & all the doors are oak, including a full wall of wardrobes in master bedroom. Guest room has feature wall in Raspberry Blush which we hated on viewing but got used to.
Will have them decorated this year but have no idea what colour(s). Raspberry Blush is not an option though. My fallback will be Egyptian Cotton which is as bland as the current greys😊

Yes it does seem to be rather persistent trend, unfortunately.

If she hasn’t committed yet I can send photos of my depressing north-facing grey kitchen! If she has, I suggest something bright orange as a kitchen-warming present!

I have just seen an advertisement for smart mobile which completely describes my dilemma. A lady sks for paint, the assistant leads her to a colour board with identical looking paint saying ‘we’ve got anaemic moon, scrubbed cauliflower, poached smoke, snowmans bone!’
