Good evening
I am overpainting a dark north facing room tomorrow. I have been informed by dulux i need something ‘yellow based’. The three finalists are shown below. It goes against white coving n doors. Any thoughts

Not sure if it's my eyes but is number 1) a different type of paint to the other two ? To me it looks very patchy and shiny compared to the smooth matt finish of 2) and 3)1

If it wasn't for that 'orrible Barbie film, I would have said "Pink".How about a very pale blue instead ?Any language construct that forces such insanity in this case should be abandoned without regrets. –

Yes, 2 for sure.
I've been down this road. It depends on the light in the room.
I've had 2, different houses where some creams or off white look grey in north facing rooms.
Ditto a cream coloured chair that had to be exchanged for off white to get cream.
I'd be grateful to know what make and name to try as I'm about to paint again and don't think I can face the anguish
I can rise and shine - just not at the same time!

Almond White is more 'yellow' than the others shown. I used it in my fairly dark living room and am pleased with it.GoldenOldy said:I have been informed by dulux i need something ‘yellow based’.2 -
The photo seems to have a brown tinge making it difficult to judge. For example the white door does not look very white.
Dulux do a 'Light and Space' emulsion paint, that is supposed to brighten up darker spaces.
Dulux Light + Space Matt - Interior - Dulux
We have used it and it seems to work. We used the 'Desert Wind ' colour.
Where there is bright daylight it looks clearly pale yellow, but in darker rooms it has a more very pale cream look. Just shows how difficult this colour issue is.
Maybe other brands have their own version.2 -
Why not choose a warm, bright yellow for the walls with brilliant white ceiling, doors and skirting?
Curtains with white background and a touch of yellow and sky blue in the pattern?1
