How to fill the data gap?

There is a gap of about 12 days in the data from my smart meter.  Data stopped being received but started again a few days ago.  I'm on a Time of Use (EV) tariff so I cannot be billed properly with this missing data.

By all accounts the missing data is still stored on my smart meter so could be downloaded but whatever protocol is used to collect the data doesn't seem to look back and fill gaps.  Is there anything I, or anybody else, can do?

Your supplier should be able to recover it but may have to take some special action with the DCC but I'm not aware of the detail. I know 3rd party Apps can do similar,

My Loop app shows no inclination to do this.  It hasn't filled any part of the gap.  Surely any decent data collection protocol would make this automatic?

Is the data missing from both your supplier and Loop? As they will both do their own pulls, if it is missing from both it suggests more of a problem than just a bad pull.

Try the Hugo app, they use the same source as loop, but have an option within their app to contact them and they may be able to initiate a manual pull, although the wouldn't help with the missing data on your suppliers side.

Have you crosschecked the DCC data using n3rgy?

    https://data.n3rgy.com/consumer-login

I have gaps in data showing on one particular app. Despite contacting CS to request a data pull the gaps have not been filled. But pulling the DCC data myself using n3rgy generates a plain text csv file for specified dates and I can see the 30 minute data points do exist. If that works you could present that evidence to your supplier.

I tried that a few days ago and again just now but it hasn't worked.  I think the problem is that a request does not "pull" the data off your meter, it pulls it off the database and if it's not there then the protocol populating the database doesn't seem to worry, even though the meter should have the data it needs.

I'll try Hugo later as I'm not registered for that app.

AFAIK the n3rgy pull is from your meter, but it can sometimes take a few days for new registrations. As mentioned above you should be able to contact the App CS (Bright and others offer this), and contact your Supplier CS to get them to pull data to fill gaps.
My Bright App has two consecutive 1/2hr gaps for a date back in January, but n3rgy and my supplier had pulled the data fine. (I haven't contacted Bright CS to get the gap filled!).

    No.
n3rgy connects to DCC to access meter data.

I do know that!! All data goes via the DCC, What my badly worded response should have made clear was that the request (via the DCC) is for the data from the meter, not some magical database at the DCC.

The article you linked is a very good explanation of things for beginners.
One thing I did spot was that even if you don't have an IHD to provide a MAC to Hildebrand for the Bright App, you can still register by providing them with additional evidence that they will request. Not sure if others do a similar thing - I haven't bothered checking as I've always had MACs.

The fact is that there is a 12 day gap in my smart meter data that my supplier, Eon Next, Loop and N3rgy have no information on.  By all accounts this information is stored on my meter for 90 days but each time I ask for it is is missing.  Therefore a request for data is a request to a "magical" database, somewhere, not a request to my meter to supply the data as that would fill the gap.  Strangely, it seems that whoever maintains this database extracts the data in a manner that does not fill gaps automatically.

The Data is stored on your meter for 13 months. I take it it is a SMETS2 Meter?
