May I add that Aldi have some really nice little eggs and shaped chocolates. Also Home Bargains will have the Lindt bunnies in very soon if they haven't already. They get them in every year soI don't see any reason why this year should be any different.Loving the dtd thread. x0

This has been 'bumped' because there may be ideas here people may like to use and of course add to...I don't want to make money, I just want to be wonderfulMarilyn Monroe0

I'm in the process of doing Retro Sweet boxes for my teenage grandchildren (boy and girl). Been to Woolworths and got some sweets -3 bags for £1 and works out total cost for each box will be about £2. 50 then add on ribbon, label and I've got a little tiny chicken to pop in with the mini eggs I've got.Mary
I'm creative -you can't expect me to be neat too !

That sounds lovely Mary... they work out at great value too.0

They do and they're fun to do. Makes a change from just making a card and popping some money in it and Easter eggs really don't seem to be value for money.
At least with these I can personalize them (not quite sure how yet) and they've both got a storage box when they've eaten up all the sweets.Mary

I think easter eggs are a total waste of money, when my sister and I were younger Mum would always give us the option of having something like a box of roses/ chocs or a craft/game type gift. Once I got this book from Woolies called "Activities For A Rainy Day" and it had all sorts of games and things to make in it. I thought it was fab.
Your grandchildren could use the empty box to maybe save coins in when the sweets are gone too. A good way to get them saving up.....0 -
I haven't decided whether I want to do an Easter Basket this year or an Easter display. The elements I've got I think would suit either.
First of all I've got this to put in a shreaded tissue basket:
Its a money box got from Woolies recently for 50p!
I thought I'd include some to-be-filled eggs (Woolies £1):
(which I would reuse for the Easter egg hunt)
and as I've got two young boys: (£2 each in sale)
and not forgetting some of my homemade choccies (from the chocolate slab forum):
Some of these:
and finally some of these:
Thats my plan (so far) subject to change & modification in the weeks ahead...I don't want to make money, I just want to be wonderfulMarilyn Monroe0 -

Thanks princesspoppypop, the ceramic chicken is also quite a big size, 4", and has a stopper under it - so you don't have to smash it to raid it (maybe thats not a good thing!
) It amused me when I saw it and what a bargain, just 50p!...
