Today i picked up a few goodies for my easter choccy baskets for my nieces.
In asda I got two sets of ice lolly moulds, they are filled with jelly beans and there is also a cuddly toy with them. They were marked down from £5 to £1.50, but went through checkout at 75p:j bargain!!!!

Going to Asda today which aisle did you find them in they sound fun.
Keep the ideas coming they are all great. I got my baskets from the Asda offer yesterday so I am ready to go.

Will be in US before easter so will look out for some fun ideas.

M&S had large ceramic white egg shaped 'egg holders' today for £3. They were super quality and would be lovely as a hamper

Browsing eBay earlier I came across ceramic paint pens. I will be personalising my ceramic eggs before filling them and wrapping in cellophane and finishing with a big bow. For anyone else who hasn't seen ceramic paint before:

"Porcelaine 150 from Pebeo is a range of water based paints especially for painting on glazed china.
The felt pens work in the same way as the traditional bottled paints and outliners, but are extremely easy to handle, enabling you to draw directly onto the china, making them great for children.

Any white or pale coloured china can be used. If you are not happy, simply wash it off and have another go. To make the paint permanent leave to dry for 24 hours, then you simply bake the finished article for 35mins at 150°C (300°F) in your own domestic oven - no kiln required, after which it can be washed in the dishwasher."

This links you to the product I was looking at but search around because there seems to be plenty of choice. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Pebeo-Porcelaine-150-Ceramic-Paint-Felt-Pen-Lt-Green_W0QQitemZ260169976783QQihZ016QQcategoryZ3090QQtcZphotoQQcmdZViewItem

I would like some knitted chicks to cover creme eggs. I couldn't see any on eBay. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Try here http://pie.midco.net/grammalowe/easter.html#chick for a knitting pattern (or just google knitted chick for similar patterns)

I thought these were quite cute on ebay... seem to be simlar to the pattern above but knitted in fluffy wool. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/2-knitted-fluffy-chicks-creme-egg-cosies-covers-Easter_W0QQitemZ350010786970QQihZ022QQcategoryZ1362QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

Your first link has great bunny boxes (near the bottom of the page) just printed on card then placed together. They would be great for hiding in the garden full of chocs :D eaiser to find for the little ones.

Another idea you might like to try for younger children is to include Playmobil - they have some lovely little reasonably priced bunny rabbit/easter hunt sets around - although I think the range will be much better nearer Easter! (I can't believe I'm writing about EASTER and its not even the New Year yet! ) MSE 'makes you' think about things you wouldn't otherwise consider!...:rotfl:

There's a limited amount of sets listed here http://www.playmobildirect.co.uk/playscheme.asp?scheme=7
but for a better range you'll probably be best waiting and searching..maybe ebay?

• Fisher Price Little People also usually do an Easter range - better for the smaller ones, and almost always on ebay if you don't mind a previous year date on the packaging

I'm going to make 4 small easter baskets, we dont usually do easter gifts but will do this year. One for Mum, Dad, Grandad and Boyfriend. Want to spend £5 max on each so will do my best to see what cute easter goodies I can find.

I am stuck with one thing though...my Dad doesn't really eat chocolate - he does eat boiled sweets but Im not sure I'll find anything like that for him for easter. Anyone got any inspiring ideas instead??

try teddy greys, the sweet shop you could perhaps get different flavours or maybe they might have old fashioned sweets he used to enjoy.you could then get some nice glass jars from wilkinsons or poundland with some ribbon around, and a lable??

How about making your own little bags of boiled sweets up, perhaps by colour eg sherbet lemons. You could make little card tops with an easter theme similar to whats on the bunny poop labels on an earlier post. Or just tie the bags with little yellow ribbons.
