Thanks @SuperSecretSquirrel that's useful to know! We did have one free pass last year (through MSE I think). I'm not sure there's much else worth having through octopus at the minute! It all seems to be their branded merchandise - I'd rather have a day out! 😂
Suffering a bit this morning with period pain 🙄 Had a bath at 7am, been out for breakfast but despite the bath and painkillers it's still hurting 🙄 Going to dose up with different painkillers and get back in the bath for a bit. I wanted to spend the sunshine in the garden, but it looks like I'm going miss most of it 🙄 Have at least managed to get washing on the line so hopefully that'll dry nicely while I'm busy soaking.
At least I don't have any plans other than pottering for today 😊6 -
Could you manage sitting in the hammock with a hit water bottle? I no this won't get any garden jobs done but you would be able to enjoy your wonderful views 🤗Fashion on a ration 2025 0/66 coupons spent

Morning chums 😊
I actually ended up getting a LOT done in the garden on Saturday, despite the unpromising start! Cleared LOADS of ivy and even got the strimmer out. Still stuff to do, but I'm looking forward to having a little private patch of grass for the summer 😊 We're isolated, but a public footpath goes down the drive which means the whole of the rest of the garden is visible. Usually I don't mind, but sometimes I just want to lie and read without having to talk to everyone that goes past 😂
Latest bank switches have gone through - just need to transfer £1250 into each account and leave it there for 24 hours, and then £200 for each should magically appear. I'll do the first tonight. I was thinking I'd have to withdraw from the savings account but it's payday today and most bills don't go out til the 1st, so should be able to do it from normal bank.
Not much else to report. Went out for Sunday lunch with friends yesterday, spent £36 between me and Mr Cheery, plus another £10 in a cafe afterwards. Could have been worse, it was a nice lunch 😊
At work today, got free parking which also makes me cheerful.
Mr Cheery is out tonight, so I'm going to do bank shuffling and YNAB, and there are a few other little admin things, not least opening all the post that comes with a bank switch 🙄
So, a plan for the evening so it doesn't run away with me...
* workout
* YNAB
* shuffle dosh into first switching account
* pay small bill
* pay my professional membership
* open and file all post
* make healthy tea (and enough for leftovers tomorrow)
Hmm, that might do, depending when I get home. Want a nice early night too.10 -
It must be odd having that footpath, but also odd for those using it. They must feel the need to announce (is that the right word?) their presence but also feel like intruding into your world.

Speaking as someone who regularly walks around the area, we try to pass through as quietly and unobtrusively as possible. We did add a 'no right of way' paths to our list of yes/no things for the rest of life house after a few years of following people who shouldn't be allowed to set foot in the noisy busy ice cream and stepping stones tourist bits, never mind the quiet and more glorious bits of the peaks.My mortgage free diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6498069/whoops-here-comes-the-cheese

I think I'll be adding that next time 😂 It's really not that bad, it's quite nicely sociable sometimes, I like to have a chat with people who are passing if I'm out there 😊 We're not on a major route so there's never that many, although we do regularly have troops of youngsters doing D of E in the summer (occasionally have to retrieve them from the wrong field before they climb over a wall and start dislodging more stones 😂). Mind you, Mr Cheery had to do that for some older walkers the other day too 😂 The footpath entrances are marked, but I often leave another field gate open (no reason to shut it) so people sometimes turn off a bit soon.
But yes, must be odd for them too, although there's a gate between path and house at least, and the actual bit along the drive is VERY obvious. I'm always surprised at the number of large gangs of serious walkers who stop to look at maps right outside the gate, and then look startled when I pop out to see if they're lost 😂 Bless em, they often seem to think I'm going to brandish a pitchfork and tell them off, when I'm usually just offering them an ice pop or something 😂
Anyway, needless to say I arrived home 2 hours later than planned and now have a headache from lack of food and singing too much in the car 😂😂 Food, then we'll see about the rest...10 -

Sing it back
A family member has a right to walk path at hers - not disclosed til after house sale was complete ... with young kids its not ideal..
No garden I buy in London will be big enough to have that issue I suspectDON'T BUY STUFF (from Frugalwoods)
No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... But at the end of the day, the only way to truly save money is to not buy stuff. Money doesn’t walk out of your wallet on its own accord.

😂😂 Ha, yes, the advantage of a very rural commute is you can sing along as much as you like and nobody can see or hear you 😂😂
Tea made and eaten, and I made enough for dinner tomorrow too 😊 Just need to parcel up that plus breakfast and snacks, and find some underwear, then I'm all prepared for the morning.
Not going to do much from my list. I'll get a cuppa and do the banking, including transferring a small amount to the new account (rather than doing the whole £1250 in one go).
Then I think I'll be curling up and nodding off 😊 Busy week and I want to be well rested 😊5 -
I sometimes dance in the car at traffic lights as I am working my way across the city …. Not sure if anyone ever notices 😉
