Ok, today's session done 😊 Day 7 (in a row - I was doing intermittent sessions before this) and I can definitely feel the pull of it becoming a habit. I'm keeping it nice and simple, like the yoga habit. Switch the podcast on and just start pottering about, no big plan. If the dishes need doing, do them. If the washing needs hanging up, do that. Of course some of those things get done through the day anyway but as I'm usually doing this session in the evening it's a nice way of just getting moving.
Today I started upstairs - I'd done some pottering in the craft room yesterday so carried on. Gathered a couple of bags for the charity shop and brought them downstairs. Noticed the appalling mess of my shoe baskets (and Mr C's, but I'm not doing those 😂). Paired everything up (well, almost everything - got rid of one tatty boot that I couldn't find the pair to, and kept the three sandals I moved house with 8 years ago (two identical pairs, but one right sandal got lost so I alternate 😂).
Two other pairs of boots went in the bin - both charity shop ones that I've worn to death, and the coating is flaking off both so they're now too scruffy even for me. Another pair in the charity shop bag, everything else paired up. Oh, except one walking boot, which may be in the car 🤔 While looking for it by the back door i found a smart (ish 😂) pair of boots covered in mould- going to go over those with vinegar tomorrow, they should be saveable.
When I was hoovering the stairs yesterday I realised how many tea stains they had on (they're painted pale grey, and clearly they shouldn't be 😂), so I wiped them down, and the craft room floor (there's not much of it not covered by furniture/rug). Also brought a box of notebooks downstairs to go in the loft tomorrow.
A good half hour! 😊

Meanwhile, I LITERALLY failed at the first hurdle as I didn't even do the conscious 15 minutes last night! 😂

😂😂 well the day after then! Or you can do it when you get in!
II'm struggling myself today - working at home and have been trying to do in dribs and drabs but have got distracted and only done about 10 mins. Going out now and not back til 10pm 😬

Well, I actually didn't get back til 10.30, and I still finished it off! Still had 25 mins left at that point (I'd done the first 5 mins of the podcast earlier in the day pottering with the washing).
So here's what I got done in total in my 30 min session today:
- Brought washing in, folded and put away
- Paired up a pile of socks that were still hanging on the airer from the other day
- Emptied the bin in the study
- Started sorting out the pantry shelves - got 5 into a state of reasonable decency, including wiping them down.
I'm not tracking everything I'm doing throughout the day, just making sure I get the podcast on and doing that, aside from whatever else is done. I know myself - if I give myself too many options in terms of 'oh well I did 4 mins on xx earlier' then I'll just cheat 😂 so whatever else I've done, still doing the podcast (for April at least).
Anyway, it's helping me. And it's rubbing off on Mr C, who's spent quite a bit of time over the last couple of days pottering about tidying his music room 😊

Well done you for doing it at that time - we didn't get back until close to midnight and all I wanted by that stage was my bed!
I must have been inspired by something though as had a very quick 5 minute tidy in the kitchen this morning - mainly just sticking odds and ends into the dishwasher, but looked loads better when I'd done! I know when I followed the flylady stuff on here for a while as much as anything else it was forming the habit that was the valuable part - as once that was in place, even without the flylady prompts it still felt far easier to get stuck in and do "something".

I would have been doing it at midnight I don't think! Well done for this morning though!
Funny old day here. Worked at home, Mr C elsewhere. Pretty productive in the end but it was a bit of an easily distractable slog and I didn't stop til about 8 when he got home. Did my 30 mins podcast, during which I:
- Did the washing up
- put the food shopping away (bit more from the waste diversion scheme, although not the epic stash of last time, and some VERY ropey looking bananas)
- More sorting of the pantry - tackled the booze stash today 😬 Gosh there's so much! 😱🙈😂 A load of beer, 2 bottles of mulled wine, 4 bottles of normal wine,12 bottles of random types of mixers, 6 bottles of various fruit liquers, 5 bottles of various flavoured gins, rum, southern comfort, brandy, port, metaxa, martini... 🙈😂😂 We do like a little tipple on the sofa of an evening and when family have been stuck for presents we've been telling them to get us drinks, but perhaps now is the time to stop while we catch up 😂

Anyway, wound myself up a bit this eveningwhich is a shame as I've been feeling quite sane for a good while now 🙄 I think I've just got a lot on at work and I know next week is likely to be quite stressful. I was looking at the sheer number of meetings, since of which I've rescheduled which has helped, but there's still a combination of my own deadlines, and other people's deadlines that I'm supporting with. I'm in the office every day too which isn't helping 😬 don't think there's anything I can do about that unfortunately.
Hey ho. I can only do what I can do. Half tempted to work in the morning to get ahead of myself but actually when I'm like this often a proper weekend off rest is more productive...
We'll see. For now I'm in bed so it's better go to sleep! Ohh - day 1500 of duolingo though so I'll do that first!
