Cheery's path to fulfilment - finishing the DIY, looking after myself, appreciating the garden 🌻

A successful day in the end! Mr C had a successful hospital trip, plumber fixed the boiler, and I decluttered a spare travel mug in his direction with a second cup of tea in it 😂 thought he might have given me a discount on the bill for digging him out of his hole but apparently not 😂. Rat man turned up (he doesn't live far away, so I suspect he had actually forgotten but just came round after my message). All poison now removed, along with a second dead mouse (which we are keeping a secret from Mr C, so don't tell him, he'll be too sad). No sign of rats since the first visit well before Christmas so hopefully that was just a one off. All holes (that we can find) now blocked off.
Obviously a bit of remedial work is needed in the garden 😬 A job for the weekend.
Yawn.
Not much else to report. Breakfast and lunch are packed for tomorrow, and I've written myself a note to remind me to take the big car to the garage, rather than automatically getting in the little car and driving to work 😂 They're just fixing the cable this time, so we can open the bonnet, which will be novel 😂 and I'll have to pay for the air flow filter they fixed last time. No idea how much that will be.
Boiler invoice is £283 which I'll pay tonight. Yawn indeed.

Eek! Mooching round the forum while still in bed this morning, I saw @foxgloves mention a survey site, and remembered I'd not been on Prolific for a while. Logged in,just in case, and the darn thing wanted to verify my identity 😱😂 It's already done this, but I've not logged in for a few weeks. Anyway, I clicked the link to see what it needed, and realised I needed to do it within an hour so leapt out of bed, and of course it wants you to show your face in a bright light 😱😂 Had to brush my hair, slap a bit of powder over my bleary visage, and a bit of lipstick, and do the deed. Which, fortunately, it accepted (clearly I don't usually look any better than this 😂).
Couple of small studies done and now I really must do my yoga and wash everything off my face to start again! 😂

I hate to point this out Cheery, but pretty sure only AI will see that pic, so you probably didn’t need to worry what you looked like!

and it’s only looking for biometric data, so makeup doesn’t influence it

Ah, well I wasn't thinking too clearly at that time in the morning 😂 I was more concerned that in my pale and bleary state I wouldn't match the picture on my driving licence 😂
Dropped car at the garage. Rather vexingly, the cable for the car was delivered yesterday - but it was delivered by Evri, and so it has inevitably gone missing 🙄 Guy showed me the delivery photo - an unidentifiable pair of feet and an unidentifiable hand holding the parcel 🙄 He's going to have to a look at the suspension anyway, but it looks like I may have to bring it AGAIN to have the cable fixed. Or just accept that I can't open the bonnet without rather a faff until the car dies 🙄😂

Oh that's ridiculous - how frustrating!

It's more annoying because it's not just incompetence at leaving it in the wrong place (which is bad enough) - someone has actively taken in a parcel addressed to someone else (a business, so clearly identifiable), or someone's posed for a picture in collusion with the driver to nick it 🙄

Yesterday the Evri man (I'm convinced it's the same one - lol) left OH's new walking stick on the ground in front of our door, despite the fact that he knows neither of us can get down there, the parcel delivery instructions say knock and wait due to disability and it's not as if he had anywhere to go in a hurry. He went back to his car and smirked as he watched OH almost go headfirst down the stairs, obviously in a lot of pain. I'm furious and i've reported him AGAIN. Had I known that Evri was involved I'd have order the stick elseswhere - the pennies saved were not worth the pain literally!
