@Cheery_Daff - Our original boiler went kaput the day we moved in, despite having come with an inspection certificate. The not top of the line but not bottom either replacement cost us 2500 which when I looked around seems to be the going rate for a new one!

Curry and rice made for tea, packed some up for tomorrow's lunch too, and there was plenty left for Mr C too. Have also made breakfast. Realised I've not actually packed up my work bag yet, or decided what I'm wearing, so I should do that before I get too tired.
Back in the office tomorrow, if i can remember where it is 😂5 -

Just really agreeing, size of house is so relevant, the boiler has to have sufficient power . My sister had to get a new one and it turned out out the previous owner hadn't got ow with sufficient power for the size of house. The difference was amazing.7

Most domestic boilers end up being very over-specced for the size of property apparently, although of course that's going to be less likely as the houses in question get bigger. For the average home though suppliers generally over-quote and in a lot of cases a small saving can be made by checking whether a smaller boiler is more suitable, particularly in well insulated properties. Cheery, I'm not thinking this is going to help you though somehow!🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Ha, I suspect not, unfortunately! 😂 Our house is long and thin in a kind of weird horseshoe shape, on 3 different levels (but not all one on top of another) so there are various bits that get nice and warm, and other bits that don't. I'd hope a new boiler would help with that but not going to replace just for that.EssexHebridean said:Most domestic boilers end up being very over-specced for the size of property apparently, although of course that's going to be less likely as the houses in question get bigger. I'm neither an engineer nor a plumber, so take this with a pinch of salt ... That sounds like the spec of the pump is more / as important as the spec of the boiler!Cheery_Daff said:
