Just remember same day is very early! 🙂5

Same day is definitely not the norm Cheery. When I've been doing hiring, it has often been a week before going back to candidates!
My current position took several months to come back for and interview & another painfully long one before offering me the job! It was then another month before I could start as I had to give notice. (Luckily I didn't have to wait another two for security clearances as I already had them!) So I'd say the better part of 6 months total, but I've been at it for 14 years so the protracted process must have been for a good reason!4 YEARS 10 MONTHS DEBT FREE!!! (24 OCT 2016)(With heartfelt thanks to those who have gone before us & their indubitable generosity.)...and now I have a mortgage! (23 AUG 2021)New projection - 14 YEARS 7 MONTHS LEFT OF 20 YEARS (reduced by 17 mths)3 -
I know... 😬 but that's still not making me patient 😂 In fact I was thinking back to the jobs I've previously got and I've not been notified of any of them on the same day 😂 Nor have I notified anyone I've employed on the same day, for various reasons 😂😂edinburgher said:Just remember same day is very early! 🙂
Thank you to @KajiKita for suggesting a follow up email though. I did send one, not giving any more detail, just saying thank you, nice to meet them etc, and I've had a reply! Still doesn't give anything away about the job but they were very nice 😂😂 did say they'd be in touch 'soon' about the outcome - but that was almost an hour ago, so at this point I'm going to assume it's not tonight.
Watching Muppets Treasure Island instead and running a bath. Looks like my impatience will just have to carry on all weekend!8 -
I used to be In sales and my manager wouldn’t take anyone on who hadn’t followed up with a few days! He said if they couldn’t pick the phone / email to them then they weren’t good salespersons …..Sealed pot challenge 822

That's harsh! But I was talking to someone the other day who had applied for a post. She met someone in the organisation later - they'd had 400 applicants, and, being completely overwhelmed, they only shortlisted the ones who'd got in touch before the deadline to ask questions about their priorities. Harsh, but with that many applicants what can you do??dawnybabes said:I used to be In sales and my manager wouldn’t take anyone on who hadn’t followed up with a few days! Anyway, I am going to try to assume I haven't got it and spend the weekend doing other things. Mr C brought some ice cream home which has helped 😂10 -
Fingers crossed for you Cheery but I also hope you have a restful weekend not over analysing the outcome too much. Interviews and their prep really are draining so a wholesome weekend may help recharge you a little.
I guess Friday interviews really puts panels against the clock to make those decision and important phone calls.Nov 2025 - part 1 - £13,878 part 2 - £20,953 Total - £34,832 24 months to go!5 -
I've caught up and just wanted to say good luck cheery! I'm sure you did brilliantly 👏🏻.4

Thank you @CathT and @debtfreewannabe321 😊
An up and down day here. Lost 3lbs at slimming world (although we were away last week, so that was over 2 weeks). Home for breakfast and a sneaky nap, then out for a cuppa and the crossword with Mr C. Stayed out most of the afternoon, and I also found an excellent pair of trousers in a charity shop so that was pleasing (same size & style as the ones I'm currently wearing, but a different colour).
Mr C is off out overnight tonight and I've decided not to join him. Wavered quite a bit, but I'm not in the most sociable mood and very much feeling the need for a bit of time alone and some tidying up! I'll probably regret that, I don't tend to sleep well in the house on my own 😬 But I can have a lazy one tomorrow.
Been having waves of anxiety lately - I suspect hormones more than anything else, and obviously job interview isn't helping! 😂 But I am going to make a plan for the evening to keep myself very gently moving and resting, rather than mindlessly scrolling and finding myself sat in exactly the same spot 3 hours later 😬8 -
So, Saturday evening 😊
