Oh, and while we're talking about bargains, I got 3 nail varnishes for £1 each in the clearance box in B00ts. Two normal, and one glow in the dark 😂 Not see that before, and no idea what it will be useful for but you never know! 😂😂7

I know! 😱 I was annoyed they hadn't cancelled it as requested, but I was also annoyed I hadn't cancelled it either 😂 However, it was annoying remembering to log in and pay the damn thing, so on balance we decided to leave it. We would have had to quibble anyway in the situation that happened (albeit the money wouldn't have been taken first!) We'll definitely be more circumspect about agreeing to have things done next time! (To be fair this is was the first time in 7 years anyone had done any work so it's quite rare!)KajiKita said:You’re leaving the LPG DD set up …? <Jeopardy!> 😳😂😉
That looks like an effective afternoon / evening 😊

Didn't do any extra flute practice, didn't get any washing on, and didn't get back up into the craft room, but still plenty of ticks ✅✅✅ and I think I got everything on my overall weekend list done too so that's good 😊
Up early enough to snag a free coffee from the Octopods this morning, so we'll likely use that at the weekend. Also snagged a National Trust day pass for £8 while I was there - I know you can sometimes get them for free but I've not seen a free one this year yet, and I thought it might be a nice day out with my mum.
Felt very productive before even getting out of bed today 😂😂
I think I'll have to park in town today. The forecast is dire, and I'm carrying a LOT of paper-based stuff today. Not enough hands for a brolly, and I don't want to get wet myself, or let all this stuff get wet. Will wrap in carrier bags for the short dash to the office but I don't want to have to walk for half an hour really 😬
But it's going to be a good day, I can feel it in my bones 😁 Hope you all have a good one too 😁11 -
So,MSE chums - how often is too often to check your emails when waiting to hear about a job application?

Every 2 minutes ....!

Ha, both of those are alternating in my mind, although I'm more often opting for the first 😂KajiKita said:Every 2 minutes ....!

Might turn my phone off for the rest of the afternoon and just check when I've finished work 😬8 -
Well, predictably my regular checking did NOT manifest an email... Hey ho. I'm not giving up yet! If I've not heard by the end of this week though I might do, given that the interview date is the end of next week.
Not much else to report. Took breakfast and dinner and snacks to work. Got given a £3 voucher for the work cafe (not sure I can actually buy anything in there for £3!) Didn't use it today but might do tomorrow. Parked in town - I had a lot to carry and it was wet. Very pleased with myself for getting there early enough to park on the street (I've never managed that before when parking for a whole day) - but then realised they wanted £14.35!!
Outrageous. Fortunately we get a discount on a multi storey (which is what I've been using on the odd occasion I've parked in town) so I did that instead. £7.35 saved! (And I'd best not get a parking fine for the 2 minutes I was walking towards the parking machine and away again - it's just on street parking so hopefully not).
Met Mr C in town and used our free coffee voucher. Did also nip to the posh supermarket for milk, and somehow spent £14, you know how it goes... Oops. Also filled the car up on the way back, and got some oil, which we have failed to put in so I'll have to do it in the morning.
Work was inoffensive today, but won't be inoffensive tomorrow - I have that meeting I alluded to last week that may be slightly difficult. I have my slimming world friendly breakfast and lunch, but I may well be using my cafe voucher for a piece of cake before the day is out. Will try to find a free space tomorrow, I'm on a different site.
Right, best go and get my act together. Yawn7 -
Oh, and I meant to do an update of the totals remaining:
Food & household: £94.52/£350
Joint treats: £86.20/£200
My spends: -£25.14/£150
Mr C spends: £9.02/£150 (having been very abstemious all month he's now bought a (third!) drum kit
Diesel & parking: approx £150/£300 (today's is still pending at £120, so I don't know the exact amount)
Hmm. Mr C will still have plenty of the cash he got out the other day, so he'll be fine. I'm trying to earn back what I've overspent with Prolific
(currently at £12.90 with £3.80 pending)
We're off to pick up this drum kit on Friday, then staying overnight with friends. Saturday Mr C has a pub gig so we'll go straight there - we don't usually spend much though, just soda water usually. Might stay over there too (with different friends) but I might argue for coming home, it'll be a long weekend otherwise.
So we should get to the end of the month with a bit left to wang into savings, overall... Not too much though...8
