Hospital parking arrangements infuriate me, too. If the money raised by charging people increasing amounts to park went to bolster the NHS I would have less of an issue with it - but of course they don't, they go to line the pockets of third party parking hitlers! Our old MP was trying to tackle it, but never got very far sadly. It always strikes me that the very time someone really doesn't want to have to faff about parking is when attending a hospital because either they are there for themselves - and thus anxious, or they are there for someone else, and thus also anxious!🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

OH spent a fortune on parking a couple of years ago when I was in the hospital! First time they let him know the day before I was released that he qualified for free parking. Second time (different hospital) they gave him a pass the first day - I was there for 6 weeks. The third time he was so fed up he gave them a mouthful - something to the effect of 'your damn system is making me pay to watch her die' - a free pass was promptly given to him, and to spite them, I'm still alive! 🤣🤣🤣4 YEARS 10 MONTHS DEBT FREE!!! Gosh RT, we are very glad you are still here, even if the hospital car park isn't!
Unexpected adventure this afternoon. Popped out at lunchtime, thinking I'd walking 10 mins to the 'main' Road to check the conditions. Got there, and it was fine, and it wasn't windy, and I was enjoying walking, so I carried on to the village.
2 hours and 4.5 miles later (and a LOT of hill) and I'm finally home, with some milk, and a new pair of gloves (hadn't bothered with mine because I wasn't going far), and I had to have a double decker to fuel me home because I'd gone out without lunch.
So not the most productive of work afternoons 🙈 Need to get back on the case now.
Spoke to Mr Cheery, he's planning to come home tonight but leave the car on the main road (goodness knows where, I did tell him the edges were all encrusted from the snow plough). I don't think I'm going to be going out tomorrow either - main roads are fine but there's half a mile of ice rink before we get there.
(Yes, that's the road 😂).
Hey ho, at least we now have milk!17 -

Beautiful but treacherous! I do hope Mr C takes care - and doesn't travel if he doesn't need to.

Thank you both xx Mr C is on his way back, main roads in that direction are fine. Local farmer texted a while ago offering to plough the drive, bless him. Mr C is going to park at the farm tonight (it's on the main road) and lovely farmer has offered to give him a lift home from there. Then we can assess tomorrow in the daylight. All good 😊14

If that is the CH hospital near us, the ticket machines have been on the blink since November. I have parked there three times and failed to get the machine to work. I drove off without paying but kept the tickets showing that I tried and it didn't work. So far, no penalty...
