Such bargains make me think I should actually go to a supermarket rather than shopping on lineMade it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became
In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!3 -

Another lazy one today, although we were both at least out of bed before noon which is an improvement! I've done some yoga, and am now doing some more plotting and scheming. Not sure much other activity will be done today though. Hoping we're going to liven up at some point, preferably not just the day before I go back to work!7 -
I've been clearing out the craft room in a continuation of our decluttering attempts. It's not only a craft room - the spare bed is in there (where I'm sleeping while we're both ill) and there's three rails of coats, jackets and dresses too, as well as all the shoes and bedding. But there's also a lot of craft stuff... some organised into clear boxes that we put everything in before moving, so at least a little organised, but the rest just piles of half finished projects etc
So I've been having a clear out. It was very satisfying to sort the haberdashery box, and I felt positively light hearted and giddy after untangling all my ribbons, rolling and pinning things I wanted to keep, and getting rid of stained, torn, and too-short bits. I've been keeping everything for years 'just in case' but I'm really feeling like it's holding me back right now.
Also found a pile of tubs Mr C had collated, mostly of different varieties of beads, old Christmas cards from the 1950s etc. None of which I want, and he's clearly not going to do anything with any time soon in crafting terms, so if he does want to keep them, which is fine, they can go in the loft rather than getting in the way in the craft room.
Will do another hour in there later, and find a sensible storage system for projects. Actually DOING them is probably the best system 😂😂😂 There's curtains to make for the craft room itself from a duvet cover that's lying around, and my wedding dress to make into a cushion (it's just a £5 blue dress from a charity shop, nothing fancy, but the zip broke and I decided I'd rather just make it into a cushion cover than attempt a repair when I never wore it much anyway).
Feels good to be getting stuff out of the house!7 -

LOL - I love a good bit of double vision - had to scroll back to make sure I'd not imagined it!
Well done on sorting the crafting stuff - I find that particular bit of organizing very therapeutic myself - I like to see my sewing box well organized all the wrapping paper, bags & ribbons corralled for easy access. Now cloths are a whole other story! I'd say that my system for that needs improvement!4 YEARS 10 MONTHS DEBT FREE!!! (24 OCT 2016)(With heartfelt thanks to those who have gone before us & their indubitable generosity.)...and now I have a mortgage! (23 AUG 2021)New projection - 15 YEARS 2 MONTHS LEFT OF 20 YEARS (reduced by 13 mths)Psst...I may have started a diary!6 -
We've been working on clothes for a while in our house, they do feel like they're slowly getting there!
I am thinking of it as 'improving systems' though - oddly enough, I watched a YouTube video from one of my homesteads favourites the other day that mentioned improving systems, and it seemed such a nicer way to frame it than 'trying to finally get my sh*t together' which is often how I imagine it...6 -

We are both starting to feel marginally more human now (although still tired), so ventured out for a potter, and I've had a long zoom chat with my sister sorting our goals for the next year 😊
Mr C Snr's health has taken a nose dive sadly 😕 He had a nice meal with family on Christmas eve (unfortunately not us, since we were both poorly) but has been ill since, and things have become more serious today. Not much we can do this evening, Mr C's sister is with him sorting practicalities, but we are preparing for a potential trip.
Looks like there may be some rotten weather setting in, so if it looks like we need to be flexible around Tues-Thurs we might just book into a local hotel and stay for a few days, rather than being at the mercy of the weather.
This festive season is not going to plan at all! 😕
Still, we are doing what we can. I've done a bit of a tidy/whizz round with the hoover, and we've both got clean clothes, and don't actually have any plans til after New year, so we'll do whatever needed as and when.
Need to book the bigger car into the garage, the engine light has been coming on and off, but last time we were out was most definitely on, and it feels sluggish. We've been using the other one, but the garage is open again on Friday and I'll be ringing first thing to get it sorted. Not ideal, I don't like only having one, but it is what it is.13
