Thank you all. It does seem more comfortable when elevated, and worse at night! Don't know if that's because they're are no distractions, or whether rubbing the cream on it makes it worse. Doc said night as well carry on as it wouldn't do any harm even if it wasn't originally athlete's foot, but every time I've put it on its felt worse, but maybe that's just because I've had to touch it.
Anyway, Mr C helped me prop it up last night, and I did get some sleep, although woke every hour or so. How very tiresome!
So, a day of dentistry today, for both of us. Mr C has fillings at 9am, so we'll head to the normal dentist first - I need to collect my denture as it wasn't ready on Wednesday when he was there anyway. Then I was going to walk to the hospital but that won't be happening now, I'll get a taxi and he can collect me later - much easier to park at the normal dentist than the hospital and this means I can be driven door to door.
Then I think a sofa each and an afternoon of tv and soft food for both of us 🙄😂6 -
Just caught up. Ouch re foot and positive vibes for today.Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became
In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!3 -
Thanks Watty xx
Ditched Mr C at the dentist and collected my teeth. Got a taxi and spent an hour in a cafe. Should have stayed there, it was more comfortable than the waiting room I've been sat in for 25 minutes! 😂
Someone's just turned up late for an appointment that started half an hour ago and they've gone to 'ask if they'll still see you' - chances are if she'd arrived on time she would have been still sat here anyway!
Still, I have a notebook and am doing some plotting and scheming. Could do with elevating my foot though - I suppose at least I'll get to do that in the dentist chair...5 -
Finally made it home. What a day.
Student dentist was lovely. Good job as we were left to chat for a good half hour before the tutor turned up 😂 actual procedure wasn't a pleasant experience, but he was polite, professional and efficient, and his tutor was lovely. Gave me a nice distraction from my annoying foot anyway 🙄 Might send some feedback if there's an easy way of doing it.
Curled up under a blanket now, watching TV with a hot water bottle 😊 Ibuprofen seems to have been more effective than I expected for my painful face, so will make sure I keep on top of that, and I've had the latest antibiotics so I'll be able to have something to eat in half an hour - which is great as I've not had anything since breakfast 😮

That all sounds exhausting. Hope the ABs and the painkillers, help you have restful night.

Thanks KK 😊
I did actually sleep well last night. Discovered yesterday that putting my foot on something cold alleviates some of the itching, so I've been alternating mango chunks and edamame beans from the freezer (the only things in sealed bags 😂😂😂). I think that's what actually helped me sleep last night!
Of course I've stood up this morning and the itching has started again 🙄 But my foot does LOOK better, the redness and swelling has gone down considerably, so that's good. Will continue with the athlete'sfoot spray as well as antibiotics of course.
Face isn't too bad today, feels as expected for having a tooth removed yesterday. Manageable without painkillers but I might take some in a bit anyway now my foot has started being annoying again - can only handle a limited number of sources of annoyance at once 🙄
Sunny day, I think I'll get some washing on the go and then we're off to a cafe for a celebratory cuppa - my first one since yesterday morning! 😱8 -
Oh wow …that’s a LONG time without a cuppa! Bet it tasted amazing 🤩
Glad the post tooth work space in your mouth isn’t too uncomfortable and your foot is calming down.KKAs at 15.08.25:

Thanks - yes, I had to wait 24 hours and I confess I didn't even drink it all! The cup itself tasted weirdly salty (from the dishwasher??), and I just wasn't enjoying the tea very much. I've got another one now I'm home and I'm not actually enjoying that either. What's happening?! 😱
Back on the chaise with my feet up. I was doing alright but being upright for more than about 5 mins brings on wild itching again and it's VERY annoying. So now I'm sat down with hot water bottle and cold compress for foot.
Washing is done, Mr Cheery wouldn't let me peg it out and told me to sit down, but he's not done it either and now the sunshine is just being wasted... 😠 If it's not out by 3pm I'll be doing it myself regardless!6 -
Oh! And if you're interested, there are some free recordings from a School of Traditional Skills summit that happened over the weekend. I can't vouch for them, I haven't watched them yet. I like The Homesteading Family youtube videos (all about growing and preserving and homesteading), but I don't know the other people they have doing presentations. There's a general theme of freedom and 'breaking free from systems' so things might get a little too prepper-y at points... but there are videos on organic gardening, preserving, composting, bread making, bees, meal planning etc that may be interesting

Anyway, these are free until WednesdayI'm going to dive in and watch a few while I'm laid up

Maybe it’s increased blood flow due to gravity when you lower your feet to the floor, that sets the itching off again?Enjoy the videos 😊
