Just a word of warning - wild garlic spreads very quickly & can take over your garden in next to no time!

Excellent - I have a lot of space and would be very happy for it to be filled with garlic 😁 I keep planting things like mint and comfrey and hoping I'll be overrun but it hasn't happened yet - maybe garlic is the answer! 😂😂

As you have the space, it will look & smell wonderful! I expect you already know that the flowers too are edible & they look pretty in a salad.

Got round to planting mine out yesterday - there were 9 little bulbs in the pot, all with leaves and some with flower buds. Stuck them in and around the fruit bushes in a couple of little clumps so hopefully they'll spread

Barely got anything on that list done yesterday. Today we were meant to be taking Mr C Snr for fish and chips at the seaside but he's full of cold and wants to postpone, so I'm trying to get a few things done on my list. Don't like having my holiday taken up with outwardly nice activities but with a sinking in the pit of my stomach because I'm putting things off

So, starting gently with banks/YNAB (it was payday recently) and then I'll tackle the LPG email, draft a reference for someone, and spend a bit of time on my promotions form. And since the sun is shining, I need to spend a little time outside!

Ok. Banks done. Bit of a mess with automatic payments flying out to regular savers that aren't in action any more, but I think it's all sorted out now (no forensic accounting though please!) At any rate, YNAB matches what's in the accounts, which is the important thing. 

Also discovered the naughty LPG firm has used my direct debit mandate to take the money for the disputed invoice already As an email to them was on the list, and I had saved it until I was hungry, I have thanked them for looking at our account and attempting to find a solution, but pointed out that they have still not answered my questions about whether the work was mandatory, and if it wasn't, then they could be guilty of misrepresentation, and that therefore I would either like proof of its mandatory-ness, or a deadlock letter so I can go to the ombudsman. Oh, and I will be reclaiming the fee through the Direct Debit Guarantee (even if I end up paying it again later if it turns out it was mandatory after all). 

Grrr. I was putting that off, and it did take me a good 90 minutes what with looking up all the relevant legislation, but I ended up feeling cross rather than sheepish so that's good (for me, at least). 

The annoying thing is that I probably wouldn't have even thought to quibble in the first place if they hadn't tried to take the p*ss. But now I'm just cross at their brazenness!

Right, best deal with this peckishness before I get started on my next tasks

Oh Cheery - that's rough that the firm have done that.  A payment for works isn't the same category as a supply of gas in cubic meters - although I appreciate the DD guarantee may not cover distinctions between goods/services - but you signed up to pay for supply by DD, not 'one-off' upgrade/compliance works.  Good on you for getting the email off to them.  What a pity they had to take time out of your holiday weekend though!

Indeed, thank you Greying. In principle I don't mind them using the DD mandate for things like that - but given that this work is in dispute and my last email to them said I didn't think I owed them anything, it seems quite cheeky!

Bed stripped and first load of washing on the line, second in the machine 😊

I've also got my next shelf on the wall in the study. Lots of messing about and I seem to have the middle bracket slightly lower than the others 😬 have shoved some books on it and it almost meets... I think I'm going to ignore it unless it causes a problem 😬😂

Mr C went out, but has discovered that everything is closed, so is coming home again. I'm glad I stayed here and got something useful done! 

I think I'm going to stay outside now for the rest of the day. I really must do some work on the promotions form, but there's no reason I can't do that at the patio table in the sunshine, listening to the birds and the (rather loud) sheep.
