Well I am feeling much more cheerful today, didn't wake up til 9.45 so must have needed the sleep! 

Glorious sunshine today 😃 I've got a wash on the line, and have been out getting the weeds out of the greenhouse, putting in the new panes, and shifting some more 'hay' out of the scythed field into the veg patch for mulch. Also took the compost out that had been accumulating in the house, and also the paper from the shredder, so the compost bay is filling up nicely. 

So good to be pottering out there. Definitely need to shift the hay when it's only been cut a couple of days though - it's been sat there for weeks now, new grass has grown through it and it's very soggy and heavy. Still, a nice day to be outside, I have my library audio book on, and I could well do with the exercise 🙄😂

Rather a faff sending Mr C's laptop back 🙄 you have to take pictures from all angles (in case damaged in transit), and print proof of purchase and a posting label - all fine, but my laptop wouldn't connect to the printer so I had to send it to my work email and power up the work laptop. Then the printer has obviously developed a bit of a fault as it's printing slight wonky - not a problem for normal purposes but might hamper reading of a barcode.

Packaging requirements are quite specific so we came into town - checked online which said the post office (in a convenience store) was open til 10pm - not too unusual, as the one on the way home from work is too, and has always been open whatever time I've popped through. But no, this one has changed its opening hours and shuts at lunchtime. And they didn't have a suitable box anyway, and neither did anywhere else.

Hey ho, we are at least furnished with bubble wrap and parcel tape, and will use or fashion an existing box. 

Got a free cake with a cafe loyalty card the other day so we are at least now sat with a cuppa! 😊 and the laptop will get posted soon, even if we have to wait til I can print the label at work on Tuesday.

Oh, and I actually popped in to say that the Octopods have a free electricity hour tomorrow, 1-2pm 😊

So, a list for tomorrow, that might have to spill over into Monday night, and even some of the rest of the week, as we are planning to have some kind of 'day of fun' tomorrow, and I suspect Mr C's idea of fun doesn't stretch to defrosting the freezer and making jam...

So anyway, before next weekend I would like to...

* defrost freezer (a bit of card from the recycling got shut in the door the other night so it didn't shut properly and now it's rather frosty)
* use up the ancient garden fruit from freezer - blackberries, blackcurrants, gooseberries, and I think even some damsons. Can I be bothered making separate jams, or do I just cut my losses and tip it all into a giant mixed fruit jam at this point? Most of it is 2 years old now so needs to get used up! 
* peel and cook apples from friends tree - they'll need to go into the freezer, but there isn't room til I've got everything else out! 
* upload photos onto laptop
* blog post
* ynab/Banks
* make meals for work this week
* make decision re changing electricity tariff

In fact, that's all I'm going to plan. Freezer/jam/apple conveyorbelt will take effort as I don't have a stash of jars with lids handy (there are plenty around, but all in need of a wash and lids matching up). I was planning to do that in tomorrow's free electricity hour but it now sounds like Mr C wants to go out and I imagine the timing will be all wrong. Hey ho.

Perhaps a day of fun will make up for it! But then we declared 2020 was going to be our 'year of fun' so we don't exactly have good form 😬🙈😂

...and on that note, I'm off to put in a load of laundry that can chug in the background while I get ready for the day - you have inspired me, we are going for coffee and cake!

I was awake early and messing about on the phone in bed listening to the howling wind, so have decided to get up. Going to get the IPL machine on my other leg while I watch a bit of cheerful tv/video 😊

Tested put the new household admin organisation system yesterday - asked Mr Cheery to update the reading from the LPG gauge. Pleased to report the system is easy to navigate and has all the correct information in. 

Also realised that I'd left a blank section for electricity - there's nothing printed at all, everything is online and goes to my email address. So I at least need a piece of paper with login details.

And the same with the car insurance - I confess I don't even know who that's with without looking through emails 🙈

But other than that, I think all household paperwork is now stored and easily accessible to both of us, which makes me feel good 😊

I feel like there also needs to be an online version, might feel a spreadsheet coming on...

In my phone I have a contact called phone insurance (one you each car) when I renew the insurance I update this with the claims number of the new provider, in the notes field I put the company name and policy number. It saves me from needing to remember which care is with who especially as some years they swap to the provider the other car was with. I find it harder to remember now all the paperwork comes through email.

You’re with octopus ? 

I use an app called Octopus Compare (think it’s about £5 a year) but you can compare all the tariffs against your actual historic usage (and gives you daily costs etc) I love it - ignore the huge costs ! I’ve a EV and an air source heat pump 🤣🤣
