I hadn't noticed that @Brambling, thanks for the heads up.0

@weenancyinAmerica - That is a scary experience. When I was a student nurse, I was taught that you can induce an asthma attack in anyone, if you expose them to the correct triggering chemical. That trigger is different for each person but air fresheners and perfumes are common triggers.
@Brie, I am horrified by your Department Head’s attitude. Personally, some perfumes give me migraines so, in your shoes, I’d be figuring out how to make a formal complaint about the air-fresheners.

This was a real page turner. I'm going to see if the library has any more of her books.

@Wednesday2000 had a search on Amazon. Other Andrea Mara books are Someone in the Attic, All Her Fault and Hide & Seek. For those with Kindle Unlimited, you get One Click, The Other Side of the Wall and The Sleeper Lies.
Husband likes Lynx Africa although it's downmarket (Axe in USA), strong smelling and makes me cough. He used to claim to be allergic to Chanel No 5 but eventually admitted that he was allergic to the prIce.2 -
I have reserved Someone in the Attic at my library. They didn't have any of the others.

Lynx Africa the pungent aroma of teenage boys everywhere as they drift past in the street. I have nephews and we frequently joke about it.All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

My own particular migraine poison is, ironically, Christian Dior's "Poison".When it first came out, I made the mistake of offering my wrist for a sample. They sprayed my wrist and watch band. Instant migraine. Had to change the watchband, too.
I'm still reading my way through Simon Garfield's Mass Observation collections. Currently a fifth of the way through "We Are At War", in June 1941. Fascinating. Food rationing is only mentioned in passing. Clothing coupons have just been introduced and everyone has mentioned it..

for years as a child I was always car sick. And I assumed this would continue into adulthood. I was in my late teens when my mom changed her habit of dousing herself with perfume (Estee Lauder Youth Dew) and then pop some minty gum in so that her breath was fresh whenever she got where she was going. I'm sure if I encountered the same combination I would be triggered like I was half a century back. Her switch to Oscar perfume was much preferred. These days she no longer does perfume at all but still loves her minty gum.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards. I've finally just finished my latest Jeffrey Deaver book. For the 1st time I have to say, I didn't enjoy this one as much. And I've loved every single one of his Lincoln Rhyme books, this one just didn't grab me.
Next up is Shari Lampena, but think No One Saw a Thing may be after her lol.Pay all debt off by Christmas 2025 £815.45/£3,000£1 a day challenge 2025 - £180/£730 Declutter a bag a week in 2025 11/52Lose 25lb - 10/25lbs Read 1 book per week - 5/52Pay off credit card debt 18%/100%1
