Kwik Fit Service... Overcharging

Hello, for any of those on here who know about cars and servicing costs. Would you please be able to advice based on the following invoice if those prices seem to be really inflated? I was not expecting any work to need to be done on my car and they came out with long list. Just so I know not to return there in the future... if that's the case.
The car is 2016 toyota yaris.

Thank you for any advice.

Toyota main dealer price for an interim service is £230 and that includes a 12 month warranty, if under 100,000 miles.  Was the pollen filter changed by Kwikfit?

Tracking looks expensive (was it required?). MOT, tyre, wiper blade not crazy money.
  • I would say that £28 each for spark plugs is very expensive indeed!
Unless they are something incredibly special, spark plugs are normally no more than £5 each.

To help those who don't want a crick in their neck...

    (Rearranged slightly)
    MOT - £39
Full service - £190 (inc service light reset, 3.4 litres of 5w30 oil, oil filter, air filter)
    Replacement sump plug - £10
    Front wheel alignment - £69
    175/65 15 Arrowspeed budget tyre - £62
Tyre fitting package - £18.95 (inc fitting, valve, balance)
    Wiper blade - £24.45
    Spark plugs - £28ea, £112 for four

MOT is cheap. Maximum legal fee is £52.

Tracking is expensive, but that's what KF charge. We didn't see the old tyre to know if it was needed, but you're never going to get out of KF without...

    Sump plug isn't too bad - https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/275815735688

Tyre isn't too bad (well, it's cheap rubbish, but it's about the market price for that type of cheap rubbish) - https://www.blackcircles.com/tyres/175-65-15
Tyre fitting price is their standard.

    Wiper blade isn't ridiculous - https://www.wiperblades.co.uk/french-build-years-2011-to-2019-wiper-blades/bosch-aerotwin-ar708u-wiper-blade

    Plugs are ridiculous - https://www.eurocarparts.com/p/ngk-spark-plug-408992420

Service - sounds steep but presumably you knew how much it was when you booked it?

Ultimately, KF are never going to be the good option or the cheap option. They trade on their high street convenience and on their national brand recognition.

Thanks, that's really helpful. Yes, I knew up front that about full service. I live in Hertfordshire as most places charge 190-270 for the service when I looked up so thought it was not the worst.

Spark plugs seemed very expensive and that was main thing I thought was a rip off here. I don't know how much the labour would be on those but does not sounds like much work.

If its a full service a pollen filter is required and I'm surprised a brake fluid change wasn't also recommended.

Yaris spark plugs are expensive.  £28 is only slightly more than ECP for Denso brand.

Tyre related comes to around £160 and wiper blade a staggering £24 😳 I just paid £20 for a pair of Bosch Aerotwin.
Did they give you a heads up that all the ancillary work was needed or did they just go ahead.
Personally wouldn’t even take my car to KwikFits for tyres, let alone servicing. Find yourself a local garage

You made the first mistake, you went to rip offs are us.
A service includes, check this, check that and check the other, change oil and filter.
So basically nothing for the money you paid.
Toyota do a service kit for a Prius for £55, oil & filter, air filter, pollen filter and washer. Cab driver special.

Local Toyota specialist wants £85 for the above fitted. Croydon area.
Replaced Prius hybrid battery with a new original part for £1400.00.

Quality air filter Mann brand £15, 5 minute job. Mann pollen filters £15, On my Peugeot a 30 minute job hard as hell to change.
I know as change them every year if not included in service.

I get my 5008 serviced at a main dealer and have done from new in 2016.
    £13.42 a month for years 1-5, £14.99 a month for years 6-10.
Year 1, oil & filter plus adblue top up.
Year 2, oil & filter plus adblue, pollen filters, brake fluid change.
Year 3, oil & filter plus adblue top up.
    Year 4,
oil & filter plus adblue, pollen filters, brake fluid change and air filter.
Then the cycle starts at year 1 again.
After year 10 I will go to my mechanic as extended warranty runs out.

Someone has said the spark plugs are about the right price in which case the whole package you got wasnt to bad, doesn’t look like a rip off as some would suggest.

I assume  you knew it needed a tyre and agreed to the alignement
