Motonovo - Asking for Payslips/Bank Statements

Options
Hi all,

I've put a claim in using the complaint template via resolver.

Motonovo are the company being claimed against. Last week they responded:

"Please send your bank statements and payslips from June, July and August 2021 and any other evidence, which you feel is relevant to this email address and we will attach it to your complaint file. We require these bank statements as evidence for your case."

I have no idea why they feel they can ask for bank statements or payslips.

I asked what information they required from the bank statements/payslips, and I received the same message as above.

Can anyone help?

Thanks!

    Hi.
I personally would not send any bank statements - they already know the payments you made/make & your bank account details (if you had a DD set up).

I can't see any reason why they need payslips either (unless they are trying to establish affordability?).

And why only 3 months ? Did you just pay the loan for this period ?

Sorry cant be any more help just my opinion

What did you give as your complaint reasons when submitting the complaint?

Either they are misreading your complaint or there is a clerical issue.
Payslips wouldn't be needed with a DCA complaint.  However, if its a funding issue, then they could be.
Bank statements wouldn't be needed with a DCA complaint but would be with a funding issue.

Their request indicates funding/affordability issues are being looked at.

Resolver is not bullet proof.  Sometimes, what the firm gets at the other end is difficult to understand.  It is also treated as a third party complaint which can result in further info being requested (typically ID related).  So, it can be simpler to go direct to the firm using their complaints process:

This is what they ask for on their website:

When you write to us, please include:

    • Agreement Number/Vehicle Registration
    • First Name and Surname
    • Date of Birth
    • Email address
    • Address and postcode
    • Vehicle Make and model
    • Details of your complaint
    • When did you purchase the vehicle?
    • How can we make this right?
from June, July and August 2021
Are you able to ascertain the relevance of those dates?  (DCA applies to loans between April 2007 and January 2021.  Those three dates are after January 2021)
